My family visited Salida on a Friday and found them by just walking up the sidewalk and seeing their specials outside on chalk board.  We had to wait a little while but the wait staff was hopping. As we left to return to Florida we decided to drive through Salida to Durango.  Again, my children and husband had a fabulous meal.  The owners spoke to all of us which made it friendly and fun.  The selection of wines, whiskeys, and food - we want to go back (possibly without kids for the local whiskey) Thanks for treating us to a great hometown kinda visit. Loved meeting the artist whose work was on the walls... really cool.

Went to Currents with some friends. Great live music and drinks! Bartenders worked their butts off!

Just had a great meal here! I had the special -- a medium rare buffalo ribeye -- it was amazing! Everything we ordered was great -- Fish and chips, beef stroganoff, fried chicken, spinach salad, etc. Loved the Kraken Tea -- it definitely packed a punch. We would absolutely eat here again on our next visit to Salida!

Hadn't ventured into currents because of expensive rumors but hey we're the only ones in town who would keep their kitchen open an extra fifteen minutes to serve us which I really appreciated.  I was then really impressed by the variety on their menu and how affordable things were.  Most dishes are offered in half portions which is nice on the wallet and stomach when you're not starving.  I actually think we might go back again tonight......

And the service was great!  Go Anton!

If we hadn't already eaten at Laughing Ladies, around the corner, I think we'd have been even more impressed with Currents.  We had an appetizer of ahi tuna, which was very nice.  It was on a bed of seaweed salad, which was good, but lacking the usual dressing.  For an entree, we split their special, a New York strip steak with a soft-shell crab on top.  The steak was more medium rare than the rare we ordered, but still very good.  The softy was great, and I found it complemented the steak very well.  I had a double IPA, which was just about what I expected.  I also had a porter, which was very good, with a distinct chocolate note.  Service was very attentive, though I distracted the server asking about beers, and he forgot to ask my wife what she wanted to drink.

My friend had the house sirloin, my son had the go with the flow burger and I had the penne vodka. My wife was the only one who enjoyed the taste of her meal. The penne vodka was spicy and it did not mention any spice in the description. My sons hamburger patty tasted like meatloaf. The waitress was great to take the penne off the bill since I only took one bite. She was very attentive and kept our drinks full and checked on us consistently.

Beef Stroganoff, Bacon/jalapeno cheese burger, swordfish... YUM! I was a little skeptical at first, but I tried the burger and pasta and it was amazing! My fiancé had the swordfish and said the same thing. Apparently a couple river guides started this place. I must say, they made a good decision to do so!!

If you want a great friendly waitstaff who make you feel like one of the family, this is your spot.  Our server was the most genuinely nice and happy woman I've encountered in the service industry in years!

We split the crab cake for an appetizer, it was good, but not mind blowing.  Decided on plain ole cheeseburgers and a bottle of wine for the meal.  They were out of the wine we wanted, but suggested another one they had in stock - the suggestion was just as good as our original request.  Burgers were huge (we could've shared) and the buns were exceptionally tasty.  Nothing mind blowing about the food or the ambiance of the restaurant, but the service made this place one of the best stops on our vacation!  And it wasn't just our server, they were all full of personality and cheer!  They even threw in a FREE "date night" strawberry shortcake dessert!

I can't give Currents any more than three stars on this visit since there wasn't anything mind blowing about the place, service, or the food. When we arrived the place was full and we were told it would be about a 30-40 minute wait. Fine by us, as there aren't that many choices in Salida. We popped in next door at a small bar for a drink while we waited.

About 40 minutes later we were seated and started looking over the menu. It wasn't large, but had a nice variety of items. A few of us started with the Prince Edward Mussels which were pretty good and had a rich garlic and butter sauce. For the main course I ordered the special of the day, a 10 oz. ribeye with grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. I upped the ante by making it a "surf and turf" with the addition of a couple large shrimp on the side. It really wasn't anything to scream about. My ribeye was cooked medium, just how I asked, but it just didn't have the full flavor I was looking for. I'm not sure how they managed to cook the thing without any grill marks, but they did and I missed them. The shrimp were "meh," and kind of flavorless. The potatoes were dry and everything needed a bit more salt. My wife ordered a smoked salmon salad with goat cheese and said she enjoyed it. Everyone else in the group seemed to enjoy their meals as well. I did hear a comment or two about seasoning, though.

The service was friendly and efficient. The space is quite large with a spacious bar and dining area, as well as an open kitchen in the back. I like open kitchens in restaurants because I enjoy watching the kitchen staff doing their thing. It's definitely a local's spot and a good place to bring the family. It's not a bad choice if you're in Salida, and I may return to sample something else off the menu sometime.

Best meal in Salida for sure. French onion soup was excellent.  Fried chicken and penne vodka were both great.  Eating here from now on when we come to Salida.

Atmosphere doesn't look great from outside, but they have great music playing and excellent service.

Finally got to try this restaurant out.  We were not expecting it to be so good!  We had the specials, ahi tuna & salmon and they were wonderfully delicious. Good service.  Prices were reasonable.  We'll be back & highly recommend it!

So yummy! We came down to Salida for the weekend to ski and always like to try new places. My husband had the stroganoff and I had the house sirloin. The sauce on the noodles was fantastic and the cut of cow was melt in your mouth tasty. The only reason I gave them a 4/5 was that the berries on the shortcake tasted and looked like they were frozen from the grocery but the cake was worth it.

The wife and I went to Currents last week for a dinner and loved it.  The steak I ordered was tasty and my wife really enjoyed her salmon.  The martini they made was wonderful.

There's a sushi night once a week.  They fly the fish in fresh a couple of times a week.

Been there several times and have enjoyed it each time.  The staff is friendly and helpful.  You must try this restaurant when you're in Salida.
