If I had to wrap up this entire review into just a few sentences so you don't have to go into all the details, I would tell you that:

Dave's Town Club puts absolutely no effort into any aspect of their restaurant. The employees are not motivated or professional, the food is not good, and the space itself is overly tacky.  I think it bothers me the most to say this, because there are such simple fixes for them to be able to take pride in their food, as well as their restaurant as a whole... but since you've got like 3 restaurant options for Delano, I guess I can understand why they don't set a high bar... they have no one to compete with.

    What a waste.

    Here's the full review:

I had set a really high bar after reading the positive reviews for this place. I am a little confused as to why it has received such great reviews...

People are right in saying it's great for kids - because kids have no taste or opinion when it comes to quality food or atmosphere.

The floors are carpeted which grosses me out, especially when I see food and french fries laying around on the ground. There's cheap, old faded Vikings posters on the wall, but everything just looks cluttered. They need a remodel.

We stopped in to watch the Vikings game, so it's great they had TVs. The layout of the place, however, is kind of awkward. The space is long and narrow, with a crowded ugly room in the very back, packed with tables.

Yes, there are old arcade games for the kids, but they're placed in the tiny hallway connecting the front/barroom with the ugly back room.... in other words not the best place for kids to be playing with traffic moving through.

We ordered burgers that were extremely cheap (yay!) I had read they had great food for low prices, can't argue with that.

.........the food we received..... was very disappointing. My burger was overcooked and the patty itself was a sorry excuse for a burger. I ordered the 1/4 lb, but this was like a MEATBALL. SPHERICAL-SHAPED. SMALL. I was literally staring at it wondering "What the Hell is this." I've had better burgers at McDonald's.

The waffle fries were good. But I ordered a side of seasoned sour cream that tasted like... sour cream.

MOST disappointing was definitely the service. The food took literally 30-40 minutes, and the place was not THAT busy. I have a feeling they only had one guy cooking in the back... a grungy-looking dude with a long ponytail... who frequently came out to deliver food to the guests. I should also add that I had a great view of the grungy-looking kitchen... eh.

Our bartender server was a 20 something blonde dressed pretty casually. She brought my buddy chicken strips. He said, "Actually I ordered the Trio-Platter". She responds with, "No you didn't."

    Really?

She did end up giving him a free beer, but that was a horrible way to treat a paying customer. The right response would have been "I'm so sorry I must have mis-heard you. I'll get that done on the fly. Did you guys want to keep the strips as an appetizer?"

She was also a bit defensive when I asked if she knew when we would receive our food. I usually don't ask things like that, but we were worried she might have forgotten to put our order in because it took so long. She replied that they were really busy. I would say UNDER-STAFFED is a more appropriate way of putting it.

I've worked in the restaurant industry and customer service in general for over 10 years, so I take a lot of pride in how I treat customers. There is nothing more important or impactful than good customer service. So it's a real shame to have people working these jobs who just don't care. You can sense they don't care - it's in the food, and it's in the atmosphere. You can literally taste their lack of caring (haha).

If you are a child with little money and no taste, you will be just fine with this place.

Dave's Town Club has been a staple in the Delano community for years.  Since I have not lived in the area for 12 years now I had to come back to grab a beer and burger with my pops.  Wow was I impressed!  I looked at the simple menu and was unsure what to order.  I went with Cheeseburger basket at $5.  The waitress asked how I'd like my burger prepared so I said medium but not expecting much as usually bars dont cook your food correctly.  I was pleasantly surprised with Matt, the cook, brought out my perfectly prepared burger.  Who knew I'd get such a wonderful meal for only $5?!  After chatting with some of the local bar patrons I found out that this place is all that and a bag of chips.  For reals. Apparently they get fresh meat from the local meat market daily.  Rieders Meats supplies the beef, bacon and other meaty things they sell at Daves.  YUM!
I will definitely come back to this place.  During Happy Hour you can get any domestic beer on tap for $2.25 for a 25oz beer!  Hellz yeah!  or if you need to chill a 12oz mug will cost you a mere $1.60.  I feel like I'm living back in Wisconsin during my college days getting fed & wasted for under $20.    Other specials throughout the week include Monday night wings for $.25 a piece, Wednesday nights is a Mexican Buffet for $7.00 that changes every week.  According to Harry, a frequent bar patron, Saturdays you must come down for Prime rib!  "It's simply fantastic!"  For only $11.95 you can get a Queen cut of the Prime rib or if you want the King you can get that for only $14.95.  Of course you get a choice of potato, dinner roll, salad, vegetable and au jus for the dippin.  I could go on and on about the variety of wings and homemade daily soups but you're just going to have to go check it out.  Yum and I'm not broke!
