Four other co-workers and I went to this place on a Friday night. We ordered the White Pizza as well as the Vegetarian Pizza. These large servings were huge! I repeat HUGE! Our party of five couldn't even eat a whole pizza. I also ordered the ice tea and it was cool and refreshing. I hear this is one of the happening restaurants in town. Overall, the service was nice and the pizza definitely was better than the canned foods I've been eating daily. My co-workers and I are coming back for the other types of food!

I love this place. It's a childhood favorite and I have been ordering from them for years. Though I don't live in Bethel anymore I still wanted to write about Dimitri's. Their t-bone steaks and gyros are best in Alaska!

Dimitri's is your Bethel staple. They now close during most of the winter. The building is old and in dire need of maintenance.
Dimitri's is a staple for a number of reasons. The gyros are probably the best you can get in Alaska. Wednesdays are lemon soup day and the place is packed to the gills because the soup is so good. The restaurant is owned an operated by a family from Cyprus that has been around for decades.
On the menu my personal favorite is the Greek Sub, which is a vegetarian sub made with feta and tomatoes on a light toasted roll. I have them put bacon on mine and it is a BLT taken up a notch. I like the bread they use for their subs in general. Their soups are also always spectacular. I know the lemon soup it all the rage but I am in love with both the bean and beef vegetable soups as well. The dinner entres are homemade and it is the only place in Bethel you can get veal, pork chops, picatta, or pasta with homemade pasta sauces and meat balls.
The Pizza is the BEST and is highly underrated. I am a fickle stinker and would put it up against any pizza I have had in Alaska. I have not had its equal since I worked for Sicilians on the east coast. The crust is crisp and chewy and it is not excessively coated in low grade mozzarella like so many pizzas these days.
