The Dining Room

Don't drive out of your way to eat here. Nothing special. Over priced breakfast. Waiter didn't speak English well and I didn't get everything I ordered, but wasn't charged for it. Drove an extra forty miles and wasted two hours.

My husband and I stopped in at the restaurant here for breakfast during a road trip. What we encountered at the restaurant was excellent food, a dated (but very clean and well kept) restaurant and excellent service. I'd venture to stay it exceeded our expectations.

Upon entering the restaurant,we spotted a display case filled with GIANT donuts - a variety of flavors. We knew we had to splurge and get one. It was fresh and delicious! Our breakfasts (I ordered eggs/pancakes/bacon, my husband opted for an omelet)  - were both delicious. I also splurged on a hot chocolate and was delighted when the server brought out this divine looking mug with whipped topping and fudge sauce! It was a real treat!

The restrooms were clean and well cared for and all of the staff we encountered was helpful as well. We'd stop here again if we were in the area.

I stopped by this location on 07/14/2013 looking for something to eat while I was traveling from Salt Lake City, UT to Denver, CO.  Initially I went inside the service station and was planning to buy something from the convenience store grill.  While standing in line I noticed a sign extolling me to try the larger diner in the building next door.  I took the bait and walked over.  I was greeted and chose to sit at the counter.  I sat there for about 20 minutes next to two finished plates waiting for someone to maybe stop by and offer some water to me, perhaps take an order and sell some food.  Maybe I expected to much with wanting to buy something to drink and eat at a restaurant?  Maybe they don't serve Injuns as I was obviously drunk, flaunting my casino money, bragging about my welfare and free education?  I don't know why I wasn't served so I walked back over to the convenience to store to search for some food.

At the convenience store I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and an order of onion rings from the grill.  Order was quick and the cashier complained about The Dining Room getting on their case about directing customers to them and then The Dining Room upsetting people with poor service so they would just come back and order in the convenience store like I did.  Overall wait at the grill in the convenience store was about 10 minutes, which was OK with me since I didn't expect it to be "fast food".  What I got was of poor quality and was greatly overcooked.  The beef patty was from a box and overcooked, the bacon was chewy, and the frozen onion rings from a bag were overcooked and some of them even burnt.  Nonetheless I ate some of it and was pretty much sick to my stomach by Rock Springs.

Overall, stop to eat in Evanston or Rock Springs.  Only stop here for gas and convenience store snacks and pass up the food.  The Dining Room is a waste of your time and the convenience store grill can't even plate up a decent burger.
