Dolly's Diner

We ate here May 26, 2011. Late lunch-time.

Walked in and no one greeted us. We stood there for 5min with other customers looking at us. We finally just sat at the only clean table. Young female waitress gives us menus. Food was ok.  Would've been better had the A/C not been on full blast. I had the cheeseburger w/fries. Sister had patti melt, son had cheeseburger also. We were tired and hungry and I dug into burger first halfway through- my fries were ice cold. :( We finished eating and waited for check. Waitress walked back and forth. I even tried to catch her eye to ask for the check. Even who I presumed was the owner (older lady, short white hair, tall) walked past with no greeting or how was your food, can I help.  10 minutes of waiting with purse in my lap, I caught waitress. She told me just to come to back counter to pay. We didn't know our $ total! She also was a bit strong on recommending we stay in a town other than our reservations in Wichita. :(

The food was good, but the service was POOR.  I did speak with the waitress that we found the small diner on <a href="http://yelp.com">http://yelp.com</a> so I expect them to check this.

Work on the customer service please! I know you are a small local joint, but you are the only food service for MILES around. Such a cute little small town you need to have best experience.

Solid food at yesteryear prices.  Gotta love KS. Family members loved the fresh country ham and farm fresh eggs.  French toast was great also.
