this is an old fashioned place that knows if youre doing something right, you dont change it. Moved here to Newton from Tx and i heard all about how this was THE PLACE to be in Newton. Now that ive been there, i can see why. Its timeless charm and warm atmosphere is the perfect combination of what makes America great. And the fresh twists are the bomb.

This place is timeless. If you have not been by Druber's in the last couple of years, it has yet to change.

This is one of the very few places in Newton that is open late for the insomniacs, drunks, HS/College kids, and people who have a sweet tooth for something fresh.

They have all kinds of drinks to choose from and the fresh smell of hot donuts.

It feels nostalgic to order some long john donuts with a carton of chocolate milk to hit the spot.

I do miss the donuts they used to have that had cherries in them.

I've lived all over the country, and I have never had better donuts than Druber's.  I love love love them.  And I love the fact that they have wheat donuts and wheat donut holes.  And I love their meat pies.  When I was a kid (15 years ago), they had the greatest chocolate chip cookies, but then they changed their recipe or something, and now they're mediocre.  I used to go there right as they opened and get a donut that hadn't been frosted yet and that was still warm.  Sounds weird, but it's GOOD!

Oh man this place is great for late night gatherings. I remember when I use to live in Newton, we use to come here all the time. After moving away for a while, I came back to visit. The place hasn't changed much and it's still awesome.

We make it a habit to stop by and eat at least once each time we come. It's a small town donut shop with lots of appeal.

I LOVE IT!!! ---- and it's coming from a Krispy Kreme fan!!

Druber's Donut is the best. When they open the shop at 11.00 pm, the whole town is filled with sweet scent of sugar and spice!!  I love their donut. Everything tastes great. The peanut butter glazing is heavenly delicious. Muffins are first-rate. It reminds me of a summertime.

Now, I'm  1,300 miles away from Newton and I miss it so much. Sure, I have Krispy Kreme right around the corner but nothing compares to homemade donut & muffins I had at Druber's.

Ah, Druber's.  I have such fond childhood memories of you.  My mom used to work at the newspaper across the street, which is perhaps part of the reason we stopped in semi-regularly.

As a three to five year-old, I was a big fan of the bear claw, donut holes, and long John with either chocolate milk or hot chocolate, depending on the season.  I guess some things never change.

Druber's is your classic small-town, old school donut shop.  You'll be sure to see primarily locals and that group of old men at the corner table who've been coming every morning for coffee and donuts since anyone can remember.

The donuts are cooked fresh each morning and they are delicious!  Step aside Krispy Kreme, you got nothin' on Druber's!

(P.S.  Although I was born in Newton, I grew up in Oregon and I think it's kinda funny that all of these reviews have been written by West Coasters.  We must be starved for a good fried pastry.)

If you want the best donut you've ever had AND a place to hang out all night long, then Druber's is the place for you.
Swing by around opening time (10 or 11 PM) and you will find a pack college kids from one of the many local small colleges. A couple hours later the next wave of college kids will hit, these ones will be in for the long haul. Once they filter out around 2 or 3 the place is ready for the early morning trucker crowd. ]

As far as ambiance goes, I am sure this place hasn't updated since the late 60s or early 70s, and that's how it should be. The baffling round/octoganal table is great for large groups and board games.

My two gripes about Druber's are these: One, the owner/manager can get uptight when a group of kids gets rowdy. Two, using the restroom is kind of a sketchy adventure--you've got to kind of battle your way through the kitchen and make it to the back of the store!
