I tried this place when I was staying up in Ithaca. Ate here with my boyfriend, his friends, and their wives. I got the turkey melt, which was delicious. The drinks were good, and although we were sitting in the restaurant section, there were TVs everywhere so my boyfriend could follow the football game. Even though there's a large bar section, and it got very crowded at one point, the noise level wasn't having me raise my voice to have a conversation (one of my constant gripes about bars in NYC). However one member of our party ordered a burger, and they brought her out the wrong one. Twice. That's a kind of big oversight to make, even if the place is crowded. But their onion rings and their turkey melt panini tasted great, so I can't complain any further than that.
Review Source:Yes, go for the Thursday night wing special, but go early or don't be surprised if you have to wait an hour just to be seated. Â One of the best values for eating out around and they did a great job of renovating the place. Â It's a towny bar with a pool table, juke box and a bunch of TVs set to sports channels, but the restaurant side is more of family atmosphere. Â Went with my brother's family and kids and everyone had a great time and very friendly service. Â The owner is a bit of a barfly which is normally kind of a red flag for me. Â Bartenders and waitstaff really hustle. Â Only complaint is the free popcorn is made from cheap stuff so watch your fillings if you get some. Â Parking lot is often full and they also do delivery.
Review Source:We decided to try the Dryden Hotel after hearing so many great reviews of it and coming up for the week to visit my girlfriend, I decided that we couldn't miss trying this place.
We decided to go on a Thursday since it's a weekly special of all you can eat wings for $12.50 per person and includes three draft beers per person or three sodas. The place was ridiculously crowded. It was tough to find a spot and we when we finally got in, we waited for a half an hour in a tight spot as there were so many people. During this time I saw a waitress bringing a pizza to another table and it looked incredible so I knew we were in for a great surprise.
Finally we were sat and given a menu. They had seven or eight different wing sauces like mild, hot, honey BBQ, honey mustard and a few others. Withing five minutes of sitting down, I had my first round of honey BBQ wings and a beer. They were absolutely delicious and they kept coming. Their honey BBQ sauce is out of this world. I also ordered two calzones as I had a coupon for buy one calzone, get one free. I ordered a three cheese calzone and a chicken, bacon, ranch calzone.
As more and more people came in, the kitchen got busier and busier. The waitress continued to bring our wings out quickly one after the other. Towards the end of the meal, the calzones still didn't come out but it was understandable because of how busy it was. I asked the waitress for a box for when they came out and she brought them as well as the calzones out (which was huge.) We got the bill which only came to $35 for 64 wings (a dozen which we managed to smuggle in with the calzones), three pint draft beers, three sodas and two calzones. Very very cheap if you ask me.
The wings were absolutely delicious and I couldn't stop eating them. They came with a side of homemade blue cheese with every round you got. Each round had six jumbo chicken wings by the way. The calzones were eaten for lunch and dinner the next day and were out of this world.
A side from the incredible food, the waitstaff is the quickest staff I've ever seen, especially in such a small and extremely crowded restaurant. They came back frequently to refill drinks and drop of the food in no less than 5-10 minute increments.
The Dryden Hotel gets a solid 5/5 stars for everything. The place is packed every night and the food and waitstaff is out of this world. This is definitely one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. Also if you decide to check the place out if your in the area (and I hope you do) make sure you check their website as they have really good monthly coupons like buy one calzone get one free, money off your meal, free pizza, ect. Also if you go on all you can eat wing night, be sure to get their early as to beat the crowd and don't wear a belt because it's not going to fit at the end of the night.
