Tonight my landlord knocked on my door and gave me a quart of baked beans she had left over from a party at her work. Not those cheap canned beans but baked beans, in a pan, with bacon and love and a lot of time spent on them. Now I haven't had a hot dog in maybe two years, but for some reason those baked beans made me really want a couple of fried hot dogs to go along with it. So strong was my craving, I went out in search them. Well I found them in Duffy's, but there was a price to be paid.
$5.75 for 1 hot dog. And not even an all beef, special topping monster dog, but something I could whip up at home with a frying pan and butter.  Just because some dummy paid that much once before does not mean to keep on doing it. That is just plain rude, and you are creating a resentment among locals as well as tourists. Do you know how stupid and burned I felt having to pay $12 for two pathetic hot dogs. You call yourself an 'irish pub' but you have a time consuming computer ticket system  to dispatch orders to the kitchen, instead of callin out ' two dags' over your shoulder like any irish pub should. Good luck to you with that.
Aside from that, drinks are what drinks cost in Lake George, waitresses and bartenders have always been personable and friendly. Nice view. The bars themselves are well made. I like the downstairs bar more than up, but just because I'm more of a dive bar guy. Upstairs bar is usually rockin out with some 80's cover rock band on the weekends, and is generally a 45+ crowd, so if you're that age and into feathered hair and jeans then its definitely your scene.
We stopped here looking for a great local pub and were fairly disappointed. Â The drinks were good but the food was lacking. Â Everything seemed prepackaged and like something I could get for 1/3 of the price by going to the grocery store. Â If your just looking for drinks and a fantastic lake view then this is a good spot; if you are looking for food or atmosphere look elsewhere.
Review Source:This place is absolutely terrible. Brought 1 of 3 meals out and forgot the other 2. Had the nerve to ask how our meals were when we hadn't gotten 2 if them. When asking server and manager for help they answered "I don't know what to tell you". This place sucks!!!! Â Better of eating at a gas station convenience store. You'll get better service and food.
Review Source:i was at duffys on 6/8. there were three of us and we each ordered some kind of sandwich. there are three floors and bars at duffys. it wasn't all that crowed where we were sitting. it took about 35 minutes for the food to arrive and it was lacking any kind of flavor. i asked to see the manager and he never stopped by our table. i could have been offered a free drink or maybe an appetizer because we had to wait so long. i had been to duffys before but will never go back. the service is atrocious [almost non existant ] and the food sub-par.................. steve
Review Source:Looking for some place for lunch, during the off season.Found this place. Not many people in the bar. the ones there were friendly though. food was hot, and tasty.
I am one to notice many things. the people coming to this bar must get lucky a lot. There was a condom machine in the hallway next to the woman's bathroom, another one in the woman's bathroom, and another one in the men's bathroom. Talk about safe sex. Might wanna keep the kid's out of this place.
First of all, this review is slightly biased because I once worked here. Â However, I love this bar. Â And not only because I worked here and know the staff (which has its lifers and summer workers combined), but because it doesn't pretend to be something it's not. Â
It overlooks the beautiful waters of Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains that surround it, which makes for a picturesque view in the summer and fall. Â There are 3 bars (downstairs, upstairs where they frequently have live music in the summer until 2a, and the deck, which also has live music.) Â The bands will play your favorite classic rock song guaranteed and when the late night crowd rolls in, they will most likely be dancing in a huddled mess. Â
Of all the bars in LG, I think Duffy's has the most diverse crowd.  It somehow attracts everyone from bikers (what it is most known for), to college kids, couples from NYC and the many locals.  The best part?  Everyone belongs.  I now live in New York, but the bikers are as friendly as they ever were, albeit loud and sometimes downright crude, but that is what I expect, and even look for, when coming into Duffy's.  I would consider it more of a Dive bar (it smells like mildew inside and the menus still have beer stains all over them), and it is not very kid-friendly  (You will hear customers yelling; there will be cursing in the music...).
I last came here with my dad to listen to the outdoor music and have a small dinner; but I also celebrated my 21st here a few years back and danced into the night with friends. Â As long as you are open to enjoying a diverse crowd and CHEAP drinks, then you will like it here. Â
*Note: the food is definitely not the best in LG, but it does the trick, and satisfies. Â There are some healthier options (I got the jumbo shrimp last time), but vegetarians/vegans beware. Â There is not much here for you in terms of food.
We stopped here for lunch because there's not much open in the off season, and I must admit that I wasn't really happy we did. Â The fried mushrooms we ordered were breaded a little strangely. Â Also, I ordered a cheese steak sandwich with no onions but got them anyways. Â I sent it back (there were a ton of them), which she wasn't happy about, and when it came back there were no onions... but there also were no peppers, and the cheese wasn't melted except on the edges. Â The beer was fine, otherwise it'd be a 1 star.

First off, I walk into a bar, A BAR, to see children running around like a pack of wild animals. Where are the parents? Yeah, they were there. Completely sloshed!
Where was the hostess? No where to be found. I had to look for someone that looked like they worked there and he pretty much blew me off and grunted the words, "anywhere". Â So it seemed like a ghost town inside, no bartender, no patrons except the kids running around while their parents got wasted. So we decided to go upstairs. Got upstairs and there was a pretty good band playing music. It was a bit too loud for me and I come from a loud and fast paced city. More drunk patrons upstairs, but it's a bar. I go around the bend only to find more kids using the bar stools as mountains and volcanoes to climb about.
When I mean they were using the bar stools, they were using all 10 bar stools that were available for different tables. The parents oblivious to the fact that we needed seating because, well, they were wasted too. This really sucked. We sat down finally after hijacking 6 stools. We waited, and waited, and waited some more. No waiter or waitress at all. I was so upset about it that I had to leave. Finally I go down the stairs that was the quickest way to the exit and the disgruntled employee that grunted at me earlier yelled at me to go the other way. Â
I hate giving a bad review, but holy cow. This place needs new management, new staff, a pick me up in decor because it looks like a run down trailer on the inside, and someone who knows how to read an ID. Kids shouldn't be allowed in taverns and the bartender should know when it's time to cut the alcohol. Especially if you're getting drunk around your 5 year old kids.
My boyfriend & I spent a many night (and a few days!) here during a recent trip to Lake George. The live music that seemed to be playing every day we were there on the outside deck definitely drew us in. At night the live music continued inside. Good selection of beer, friendly bartenders, live music, nice views of the lake...what else do you need??
