We like Caribbean food, so we fell for the billboard advertising the Tuesday buffet.  Went with some friends we'd met up with in the area as a break from cabin cooking.  All agreed it was a "chalk it up to experience" meal.

Given the circumstances, we shouldn't have expected much.  No real competition in the area, so the casino probably doesn't have to push itself.

Pretty weak selection for a buffet.  Jerk chicken, jerk snapper, and jerk something else (pork, maybe?  Did not try and five days later can't remember).  Those in addition to the obligatory roast beef and a few other nondescript items.

I had a shrimp and rice dish of some sort that was very bland and also required shelling the shrimp, which meant fishing them out of the rice.  The snapper and chicken were both tasty and cooked well enough, but still a bit underwhelming in flavor.  The fruit selection (papaya chunks and a couple of other unidentifiable fruits inside a melon) was weak and looked unappealing. I didn't even get any and skipped the entire salad bar except for the regular green salad (which you can get anywhere with grated cheese and bacon bits) and a small amount of some kind of noodle salad I've also already forgotten.

Whatever mango-accompanied main dish was on the billboard -- the thing that caught our attention -- was not present on our visit. In fact, if there was a mango within 10 miles, I'd be surprised.

We got there at around 7, but even for a Tuesday night in mid-August there were surprisingly few tables occupied (only 3-4 at any given time out of 25 or so). Still, there's no excuse for a dessert case in a casino buffet to be almost completely empty Three slices of sad-looking lemon meringue pie?  The staff (several of them standing around chatting) seemed surprised when we told them we'd like more selection, but they did get it filled back up in about five minutes.  Even at that, they put only one piece of some items in there, managing to make several of our party envious at the child who ended up with the sole piece of chocolate cheescake or the last piece of fruit pie.

The kids were happy with the soft-serve machine (vanilla, chocolate) and four syrups/five toppings (crushed cookies, chopped M&M equivalent, grated coconut, etc.), but the desserts were like the rest of the buffet ... limited and uninspired. Same goes for the decor, and staff seemed listless.  Would not revisit very willingly.
