  This restaurant is out of business - go to Ranch House Kitchen at 23214 5th Avenue where the food is great, people are friendly, and prices are reasonable.  You will be glad you stopped - my favorite was the BBQ plate, and don't forget the Blue Bell ice cream floats, shakes, and desserts!

  I've been going to El Toro since they opened their doors. Maria is the manager and she gives stellar service. If you want anything special, she's sure to make it for you. She's a great host, and wants you to be happy with your food and experience at her place.
  
  My family's favorites are the Nacho Fiesta and Nachos Locos.  Also, The Shrimp Quesadilla is quite tasty for lunch.

  Given that this place is located in a very small town in rural Alabama, I was surprised at how good it was.. I tried the "bistec al la mexicana" ( a plate with seasoned mexican steak chunks , avocado puree, lettuce,  rice and refried beans)  with corn tortillas.. The steak chunks were very well seasoned and cooked  with peppers and onions..   The owner and staff are all from Mexico . Service is friendly and courteous.  The interior of the restaurant is comfortable, decorated with typical Mexican restaurant stuff like sombreros , and clean. The small TV in the corner was tuned to soccer on Spanish language network UNIVISION during my visit. I tried the margarita also, it was OK, although I am suspect they  just were using standard "margarita mix" and Jose Cuervo or some other low quality tequila.. The food was better than the margarita..  The salsa served with the corn chips before the meal was also quite good.  This place is a good option if you are in Florala.  If you  are visitiing or passing through, be sure to take a walk along Jackson Lake in nearby Florala State Park, it is quite nice!
