this place is pretty awesome. yay!

the bar is gorgeous (carved wood owls and cats! and mirrors!) and the selection is well above average. craft beers and craft liquors anyone?!?!?! there is also a giant moose head on the wall. in case you are into things like that. then, outside, the tiki bar awaits to fulfill your frozen/tropical drink dreams. thatched roof and all.

they have live music and djs on the weekends, and i hear that their food menu is pretty fancy. any place that has swordfish on the menu must be fancy, right? I've only eaten their standard bar snacks that come in a fried form, and those were delicious (as is most fried food). their tables look cozy; i'm sure i'll be bringing my man back here for a proper meal sometime soon.

First time here... and OMG! From the moment you walk in it's amazing. The decor and the friendly staff. We had an assortment of breads before our meal... the pumpkin bread or whatever it was, was phenomenal. The main course was just as great. I loved their beer selection too. We will be back!

***This review is specific for the bar area***

The Erie has a gorgeous bar, full of intricate woodworking, and fantastic craftsmanship.  If you appreciate things like that... take a good look.

The options for beer  connoisseurs should bring smiles!  In an area of Orange County where B-M-C are expected, it is rather refreshing to see an alternative.

On the front bar tower you will see about 10 different taps (or so... this is an estimate), but on the interior tower you will find another 6 or 7).  The thing that makes this place unique is the options.  If you are into Bud, Miller, Coors, it is there.  If you are not a fan, you can find many craft breweries available.  The interior tower seems to be their  "elite" craft brews, and cycle rather often.  Tis means a few weeks later, when you pop in you may encounter a new craft beer that wasn't there last time.  Tha there is a reason to continually ome back to this place!  Smart business practice!

Give it a try... oh.. yeah... they also run a restaurant!

I have been coming here for several years whenever, I am in the Tri State Area.

The ambiance being next door to the original Erie Train Station (operating as a pharmacy and business offices now) is great.

The food has been so so, and I would like them to have a better selection of microbrews on tap versus the standard industrail beer that you can get anywhere.

In Jan 2012 the Wifi was Not operating, but in Feb 2012 it was up, so you can come here after work, hike, etc for a beverage, appetizer, and surf the web now.

I really like the decor of old picturs and Erie logos, and I'm a Lackawanna guy.

This is the only bar around that has good beer. They change them regularly too so you always get a different beer. Awesome list!

Great place to go after a show or for lunch.  The food is not bad as long as you stick to the basics like burgers and the service is friendly and quick.  Drinks are made well and won't bust the bank.

The decor make this place though!  True to the era in every way and a museum unto itself.  As a matter of fact, skip the museum in Milford and go here instead!

    AKA Erie Depot
I've lived in the area for twenty years and for some reason never made it in here. That's too bad because it was a wonderful surprise! We were sort of forced to go because of Hurricane Sandy... all our regular haunts in Milford PA had no power!
Calamari app was above average. Prime Rib was perfect. Linguini Alfredo spot on. Cream of mushroom soup... Above average. I was expecting bar food and got a real treat instead! Speaking of the bar... The beer list is spectacular! I love this place. Nothing fancy. Just quaint atmosphere,, great service and surprisingly good food.

I used to come here for lunch regularly, but the service and food seemed to be going downhill. It was a pleasant surprise to come back recently and find things greatly improved. Burgers are great here, as is the French Dip.

This place is great!  Another reviewer posted that its very expensive.  Let me clarify that its not very expensive, but it isnt cheap either.  You get what you pay for, and in this case your paying for good service, great atmosphere, and mouth watering food.  There burgers are FABULOUS!, the steaks and sides all great. I honestly have eaten here so many times tried so many dishes and I HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD experience.. Not once in 15 years.  The worse that happened here is a drunk extremely happy woman walked up and hugged me before realizing I wasnt her friend =P

Cool place to check out in Port Jervis. It is an old hotel and I think then may still offer rooms. The bar area has one of the old big wood carved barbacks, Very cool. We had some wings which were good, nachos which were good also. The fish and chips left a bit to be desired. They got points for having the malt vinegar but the frozen fish-stick quality of the fillets was a disappointment.

How can you NOT like a place with a prohibition-era photo of a protest march of guys holding "We want Beer" signs? We got a daily lunch special(handwritten on scrap paper) as well as a sandwich off the menu and were quite satisfied. Definitely worth the short drive off I-84, if just to see a great old railroad hotel with its original carved wooden bar. Oh, and whoever said it was $$$ needs to get out more, try $-$$.

After two days of the worst camping experience ever, the cherubs sang when I stumbled across this place, along with 30 or so friends.

The staff was awestruck at the sight of a few dozen disheveled, red eyed, city slickers - foaming at the mouth with an appetite of biblical proportions. When the food came, the portions were biblical.

I started with an onion bloom with horse radish, which was delicious. The bloom was then followed by a cheese burger with a fried egg on top (in New York we call it a Texas burger, not that we know diddly). The burger was absolutely delicious, it had the taste of freshly packed ground beef. The fries were exquisitely crisp and golden.

I dare say the burger was one of the better burgers I've ever had.

Approximately thirty mouths ate that day, and all of them were satisfied.

The service was fabulous, friendly, and quick. They had enough space to accommodate all of us without disturbing the rest of their customers.

I don't anticipate being in the area ever again, but if I am, I pray Zeus that this place will remain there.
