The food was good and staff started out friendly. We came in at 7:45 p.m. Granted they close at 8:30 but we thought it would be ok. Within a few minutes of being seated we heard that the grill is cut off in prep for closing. We smelled a little trouble at that point. However, we all ordered dumplings which should be a grill free affair. They were a little short on dumplings, but the portions sizes were good. Gravy was a little too salty, but we all agree we bet it was a fluke. Everything else we including veggies and appetizers were really good. Offered dessert because of the dumpling shortage. It was apparent they starting to rush us mid-way between our meal. This was our family night out ~ movie and then dinner. Having them hover and hurry us along wasn't exactly a nice way to end our evening out. Â They had started off so well too. Then we were told they can box our desserts. We weren't asked if we wanted them to go. We were basically told to take our dessert home...please, with a smile. We left at 8:20 p.m. I'm not sure what they'd do if someone showed up 8:15 p.m. Closing is at 8:30 and from the restaurant business I came from that meant we would seat and serve anyone coming in until 8:30. Not boot people out in a passive aggressive nature. Would we return? Yes, but ONLY if we knew we could be there before 7:00 p.m. so we don't have to shovel food down our throat and take our desserts to go. I think the owner needs to address late seating customers service standards with their serving team.
