Great atmosphere with quality menu - seafood and american cuisine with good and original flavors on offer. Â Had the special -- pork chop with rich beer based sauce -- and no regrets. We were there on an ultra non peak night - 7:00 on a cold rainy Monday in early June, yet the service was friendly and warm. While the building can't offer a lake view, it has solid 19th C feel, and has that Essex Village Charm. They have hotel rooms, which should make the place very attractive to others.
Review Source:Newly renovated, the Essex Inn is a great place to linger for an evening of lovely dining, or to stop for a bite to eat on either end of your ferry trip across Lake Champlain. Â Small and cozy, the restaurant has a terrific menu. Â Better still, book a room and stay a day or two exploring the great bike routes, walking trails, and beautiful vistas of the area. Karen and Rick Dalton have done a great job upgrading this classy old Inn in the heart of Essex' quaint, historic village. Â It is well worth a visit no matter how long you plan to stay.
