Eunie's Palace

What can I say?  Most places are better than Eunie's in Dixon, NE.  For many reasons.  Everything is fried in one way or another.  French fries, tator tots, fried vegetables, onion rings, etc.  The food is just that, food.

It's a bar in the middle of nowhere Northeast Nebraska.  I'm sure I am going to be the only person reviewing Eunie's as there are no Yelp users in Dixon, NE.  If my review brought you here, I hope you love it too.

I find Eunie's Palace a special place, a good old Nebraska bar, a flavor you can not get in the city.  I use to live near here and find Eunie's as a connection to my roots, where I was brought up.

The restaurant itself is full of boxes, storage along side mix matched chairs and tables.  Christmas decorations up in July, hand carved signs misspelled and proudly hung with strange sayings only a local could love.  They are known for nothing really, maybe a yearly motorcycle rally that is a dot on a photocopied map.  I'm sure the locals do not see anything less than a place to grab a beer and a burger.

I myself enjoyed Eunie's Palace for what Eunie's Palace is.  A small palace in the middle of nowhere.  It doesn't resemble a palace at all.  I think that is also what makes this place special, it's ironic humor.
