Here on busines and checked out Yelp to find out where to go for UFC fight. This place had good reviews. I have to say this is the first time yelp let me down. I paid a 10 dollar cover....no problem this is standard for UFC fight at a bar. They direct me to go upstairs. I go upstairs and sit at a dirty table on a folding chair. Look around and see scrapes in the wall from the chairs. I also see black hand prints and smears of dirt under the TV which I'm assuming is from an untold number of people have attempted to change the channel. I start sweating because its freaken hot! And im from Az whaere it was 116!. I see a very dirty box fan attempting to cool the room. I advised my waiter that it was hot and was told, "yea I know nothing I can do sorry". Ordered a beer and it was warm. Ordered the nachos cheese was burnt and the sour cream was 3 shades of funky. The waiter.....and I know I sound negative about now but the waiter was....awesome ! He was very attentive and courteous. I STRONGLY suggest if your Bellingham DONT go here.
Review Source:Ya...not good! So freaken HOT in here! Ordered nachos, cheese burnt, and had aand  bad sour taste. $10 cover for UFC, dirty table, broken chair... if it wasn't for the fight, I would leave...I'm so miserable right now! Oh...there's a dirty box fan in this room cooling off 1 table...so crappy! Complained about the heat and was told nothing they can do...said I was the only one that complained that it was hot....as I look around the room and see people fanning themselves with the appetizer menu :-) oh and can't forget the dirty handprints and gouges in the wall.... won't come back. The waiter was the only good thing about this place...
Review Source:I giving Extremes a 5 stars not because it is the best sports bar I've been to in my life, but because it is by far and away the best sports bar in Bellingham.
The service is good. Â I haven't had to wait very long for a drink, and the waitstaff is friendly. Â My first time in there, I actually had a good long chat with the owner - he is a nice guy. Â The drink prices are good for this part of the country. Â But they have I think $2 Rolling Rock drafts, so it doesn't get much better than that for this guy.
The seating is good, but not great. Â There is a large upstairs area I've yet to venture to, so I can't comment on that. Â But the waitstaff is very accommodating on switching TVs to what you want to view!
The food is above average pub fare. Â The nachos are delicious (my indicator for a good sports bar), the burgers are great (but sometimes TOO much for toppings), and I've heard the pizza is very good but haven't tried yet. Â
As far as packages go, I believe they have NFL, NCAA networks (Big10 etc) and NHL - not sure about MLB, but I don't believe they have NBA. Â NCAA, NFL and NHL are my big 3 so I'm set.
They did a great job for the annual Cat/Griz (Montana State/Montana) showdown as well - big viewing party, a buffet, specials. Â It was a blast!
My favorite sports I've found not only in Bellingham so far, but in my short time in Washington.
Not being from the Bellingham area I asked the desk clerk at the Holdiay Inn for his recommendations for a place to eat; he said that if I liked good bar food to head to the Extreme Sports Grill.
I've eating there twice now but still don't see how and where someone rates it a 5 star. It is nice inside and the staff seem friendly but each time I gone there the taffic was low; so not to busy and it still took a bit of time to order. This is one of the reason's why I rated it a 2 instead of a 5 star.
There is alot of sports displayed on multiple monitors, very roomy, and you come into a basement type entrance from the Holiday Inn Express hotel side.
Each time I had a burger (Cajun and San Antonio). With the Cajun I stuck to the fries (pretty much string fries) and the San Antonio with a side of onion rings. With the San Antonio I requested tartar sauce with my onion rings but never received it. The burgers were not spectacular for $10 and half or more which isn't the main reason I won't try to go and eat there. My company reimburses me lodging and food expenses. I can get a Red Robin more creative for around the same price with endless fries.
I admit that I was up most of the night prior to my second visit due to my neighbor in the next room falling asleep with the TV up too and it keep me up until 12:30AM. Which is the reason for my second visit to the Extreme. My visits were less than a week apart but each where on a week night (Thursday and a Tuesday) and it was fairly slow. So I thought why not give it another chance.
Next time: Hopefully with more energy on my next stay in Bellingham I will find somewhere else to go.
Sum it up: I like good bar food and beer at a decent price but for what it is at the Extreme... it ain't worth the $$ for the same thing you get at other bars.
Clearly I am going to agree with everyone else that this is the best sports bar in bellingham. Â I like almost everything about it.... The food is very good, especially the sandwiches. Â And they have manny's pale ale on tap (my favorite beer is only on tap).
My only thing, and it is small and meaningless, but whats up with the pictures of maps on the wall on the way to the bathroom... for some reason that really bothers me, they need to go and put up more sportsy stuff and I am ALL IN, but until then, 4 stars :-)
My fiancee and I stopped in for dinner on the night before she was to run in the Bellingham Bay marathon. Â I was looking for a place for casual food and to watch some college football, and Extremes really fit the bill. Our pizza was delicious, and the service was just fine. Â Special thanks to our server, Patty, who upon finding out that my fiancee's birthday was the next day, brought her a "chocolate cake" shot. Â Very nice! Â We'll be back next year.
Review Source:I've been next door at the Holiday Inn Express and saw this in the room info binder. I didn't realize it was less than 100 yards away at first (even through I drove right past it on the way in). Last night I walked to Subway, and when I saw Extremes was right next door I was a bit bummed. I would have rather tried something from there 2 nights in a row instead of Subway.
I ordered a personal pizza to go (ham and pineapple) and walked over to get it. It was going to be another 5 minutes until it was done so I got a beer at the bar. Not a great bottled selection (Heineken was the best) but they had a nice selection on tap.
I looked around the spirits selection and it was pretty decent. Grey Goose was the best Vodka, McAllen the best Scotch. I don't drink tequilla but recognized some of the better names. There was a decent wine selection as well.
The personal size pizza was a bit bigger than I'm used to, but not too huge. The first slice I picked up left all the topping behind, but that was mostly because it was so piping hot from the oven. Â The crust had a really nice yeasty flavor on bottom, and when I bit into the edge there was a very subtle garlic taste.
Atmosphere was nice - the guy next to me asked the bartender to change one of the 7+ TVs to a game that had gone off the channel it was on and she was quick to oblige.
I would not hesitate to go here again.
What a great place!!
We had an alumni event here with 100+ attendees... they found the pay-per-view channel, pre-planned a pizza/salad/pasta bar and have many, many delicious beers on tap! Â Hard liquor too, folks. Â They have big screen projection TVs, HDTVs, pool and darts to keep you entertained.
Service was top-notch, friendly and responsive.  Food was delicious - and we plan Extremes being the new "home" for Cat/Griz football.  During the event, I heard nothing but praise for their staff, food, and venue.  If 100+ people can make it to Extremes with 29º weather and ice everywhere, surely you can make it there on any other day.
Only complaint I have is there isn't an Extremes Sports Grill & Pizzeria over on my side of the water in Kingston! I just ran the Bellingham Bay Marathon and decided to celebrate here and it was great. Great draft selection, tons of Tv's and good pizza! They play whatever football games you want. Saturday night they host the UFC PPv (if there is one) with a $10 cover charge. Great service and atmosphere!
Review Source:Best sports bar in town could even be one of the best bars in town. Awesome happyhour with tons of tvs. Bartender kevin is awesome very cool guy. And owner carl is a super nice guy. I go here atleast once or twice a week and i have never had bad service or bad food.
Ps
You have to try the bacon raped pickles.
This is my favorite place to meet with friends, watch sports and have parties! Â It is child friendly with Wii set up on a big screen, pool table, darts and electonic games at the bar. Â GREAT food...not just bar food. The owners are awesome people that work and mingle with the customers constantly as well as maintain a friendly and experienced staff. Â Extemely comfortable atmospere! Â Can't go wrong choosing this place!!!
Review Source:This sports bar is a great spot in Bellingham. The owners work the bar (how cool is that?) And they are GOOD people. Beautiful bar, plenty of flat screen TVs playing every game you could request, and shockingly good bar food. 3 giant screens with HD projections, plus they have pool and darts. Very, very great place to relax and have a cold one... Or six :-)
