This is the hometown restaurant you wish you had within walking distance of your house.

I've been hearing about this restaurant for probably four years.  A couple across from my parents' house would eat here after church.  I can see why.  It's not just a restaurant but it's a community meeting place, of sorts.

When I saw, and was told, that Ham and Beans with Cornbread was one of the specials, I knew the kind of home-cooking place this was.  It's honest food with little thought to cholesterol because all the thought was being put into TASTE.

Breakfast options are what you'd expect: eggs, meat, and potatoes, though the chopped steak (or ribeye or sirloin) was an interesting option.

Dinner options go anywhere the from the typical open-faced beef or turkey sandwich/Manhattan to fried chicken strips and Mexican options.

They over a wide variety of sandwiches, including a patty melt with rye bread.

Salads are available also, including the interesting Southwestern Steak Salad.

I had a Grilled Ham and Cheese, which comes with fries for $4.99  My iced tea was $1.99.  I forgot to take a photo because I was too busy enjoying the food.

They're not bad prices when you consider going to Burger King or even McDonald's, but then, you leave without really enjoying your food.  What good is that?

To all those people who have to have a special dining experience, you're missing out on good food, just to get a bit of fake atmosphere.  Whether I'm in Japan, Philadelphia, California, or the midwest, I'd rather feel comfortable and eat something that tastes good.

Classic Diner food, breakfast, burgers sammiches, daily specials and great homemade desserts!
Great price and fast friendly service.

We usually get breakfast, as  this is one of the few places that knows how to get hashbrowns crispy without burning them, and they have very good sausage.

Occasionally I have a hard time deciding between breakfast and dinner; in those situations I order "Paul's special" Its a 1/3Lb cheeseburger, topped with bacon and a fried egg; do I need to say more?

If you are in Fountain city check out the Family diner, You will not be disappointed!
