I am a transplant from Atlanta and was thrilled to have this sweet little spot open up this past year. I no longer have to frequent Nashville pubs to get my fix. Cookeville now has their own 'Cheers.' The owners, the servers along with the warm atmosphere, create a space to kick back and relax or to pre-game before a night of celebration.
Enjoy a well made cocktail from their wide range of liquors and homemade mixers, or from their distinctive wine and beer selections. Beard, the bartender and mixologist (as I like to call him), has a knack for preparing infused drinks from fresh ingredients to a beverage straight up, anyway you like it. He is always ready to serve and give you the VIP treatment.
The food is mostly pub grub, but they do have several lighter choices that include hummus with pita and vegetables for dipping, salads and a yummy bruschetta dish - all good for sharing. I tend to go with the lighter choices with my special dietary needs, but occasionally I will indulge in the fish and chips or burger and love it! I recently tried the veggie burger and will definitely be having it again soon.
It is a place that welcomes friends and family
As a Cookeville native who moved away years ago but still comes back a couple times a year, I was quite impressed with this place when I visited over Christmas. Â It's nice to have a cool pub in town that actually serves good beer instead of just the yellow fizzy crap that dominates the beer market. Â We just had an appetizer with our drinks but everyone we spoke with said the food was good. Â The atmosphere was quiet but friendly and service was good (although our server could have used a little more knowledge on the beers they were serving). Â I look forward to going back on my next trip to Cookeville.
