I'll start with what's good -the hushpuppies. Plus it is convenient to the Highway which is why we stopped. But the restaurant is unattractive and furnished with little thought. The food is all white bread, mayonnaise, and French fries. They won't serve you any water other than "bottled" water which they serve in Mason jars and they charge you $1.99 a glass.

I think they'd do well to watch the makeovers on "Restaurant Impossible" on the Food Network (especially the Edibles episode).

Stopped at this exit because the dog had to go to the bathroom, and it looked like there were a lot of cars in front so I decided to give it a try.

There were only two other customers in there, so not really sure who all the cars belonged to.  Menu was over priced and I was ready to leave upon seeing it, except my wife and her friend had used their bathroom and felt obligated.

We ordered sandwich platters.  Smallest BBQ sandwich I've ever seen for $8 (with hush puppies), and mediocre to boot.  Plus the sauce had just come from the refrigerator (nice and cold to go on the lukewarm bbq), and was actually just Sweet Baby Rays (you know, the $1 a bottle from the grocery store).  Talk about authentic!

We drank water, though it had an annoying amount of ice.  Why do i mention that?  When I got the check, it didn't add up (was way too high), at which point I was informed that ICE WATER WAS $1.99 A GLASS, since they allegedly use "bottled water" which 1) I doubt is true and 2) even if they do I have a feeling they didn't make the ice from bottle water, so WTF?  Regardless, no warning or indication of such when we ordered, which is ludicrous.

Rarely do I leave an establishment as annoyed and regretful as I was of this place.  I highly suggest you avoid.

Found this little place off 95 while traveling.  I ordered the BBQ platter, it was good.  The service was good and atmosphere was ok.  The ice cream next door was delicious!!

I don't know who wrote that last review but this is not good eastern NC style BBQ.  In fact this isnt a BBQ joint at all but more like a bad american diner.  It doesnt smell like BBQ and they only offer pulled pork and pulled chicken.  I wonder if they even have a smoker.  I grew up in NC and went to college in eastern NC.  I also smoke my own meat 2 or more times a week.  The pulled pork had a chemical taste to it. The meat was obviously reheated (overly) as it was not nearly as tender as fresh pork shoulder. Also, when I asked for a side of vinegar BBQ sauce they had none.  Chicken tenders were like beef jerky and the fries had potential but were soggy.  House salad had large chunks of yellow onion and hamburger sized pieces of iceberg lettuce.  The worst part, the coleslaw, they are1 star for this.  It was obviously old and in the beginning stages of decomposition.  Don't waste your time/money!

I'm a huge fan of North Carolina style BBQ.  This place has an awesome vinegar based pulled pork sandwich. I'm not big on BBQ sauce (on pulled pork anyway) and they put their sauce on the side which is definitely a plus. And to be honest it didn't really need it, but the sauce was good too! I dipped my sweet potato chips in it. All in all the place has pulled pork that you absolutely should try! It's right off of I-85 in Dinwiddie, Va but I don't remember the exit. I'm super glad I found this place
