FATZ

taking that 14 hour Xmas drive from Chicago to the Appalachians,  you get hungry.   nothing but horrifying chains.  until you see the billboard for

FATZ!  

and a giant photo of a gigantic burger.

it was hoppin' inside.  we couldn't eat in because we had 2 dogs in toll.  around the corner was a "Togo" door, so we ordered a burger & a salad from the joyful staff.  after walking our dogs around, our food was ready.

delicious!  also around $20!  delicious meat patty with Gouda & fried onions & side of sauteed spinach (side choices-at least a dozen) & a chef salad with plenty of in-house made spicy ranch dressing.

we grabbed a menu so we can phone in an order when we blow through town again.

Dude, I don't know where they get their "Ice Box Key Lime Pie" from or who makes it, but it is SO damn delicious that my mom and I had to order two in a row. OH oops, let me start off with our appetizer.

Okay so appetizer: we got the blue crab dip and BAM! that was good.

Entrees - I got this salmon thing and my mom got a club sandwich, they weren't amazing but they were still good.

And now back to dessert! Ice Box Key Lime Pie = freakin amazing!

I went on a Sunday rainy night with my girl. We both agreed that the potato soup was awesome and filling!!!! She ordered the classic and world famous calabash chicken strips. I ordered the chicken pot pie and it was huge!!! Complainants on missy the prep chef for absolutely making that. Peach tea had an odd taste but maybe because I'm from Brooklyn but I still had two glasses cause I was thirsty .
