Good service, good food. Had calabash chicken. Very good! Also had potato soup which was excellent. Too much noise. Seated near kitchen. Much yelling and laughing from kitchen staff. Server was at a station directly behind where I was seated, rolling up silverware. She had to talk with every other waitress who walked by. Very distracting while trying to carry on a conversation with my wife......
Review Source:Despite the name, they seem to have recently revamped their menu to be healthier and to have gluten-free options, but not many vegetarian entrees. Seriously, do you have to put bacon on EVERY SINGLE SALAD?!
Anyways, I was able to piece together some side dishes which were good. I can recommend the cole slaw, the steamed veggies and the mashed potatoes. My mom and my sister loved the lite grilled salmon and my dad devoured his shrimp & grits. I don't know anyone whose eyes don't light up when the poppy seed rolls & honey butter arrive at the table.
They have some new dessert shooters for us sugarholics that need help with portion control. I had the chocolate mousse and the key lime pie shots, which were decent.
I think some of the menu items are overpriced for what they are, but our server was good and the bathrooms were clean. As the three starts imply, this place is A-OK.
Is today Tuesday? Â If so, try the Chicken Stew (they only serve it on Tuesdays). Â It's a cream based heavy soup, a little spicy, and really good. Â The bartender says they "run out" every Tuesday.
I also ordered the Spinach Salad with chicken. Â It had all the right ingredients (chicken, fresh spinach, red onion, dried cranberries, cherry tomatoes, cheese, egg, bacon) but I did not like the warm bacon dressing - so I would not order this again.
The bartender was a great waitress - I ate at the bar.
I'd come here again... Â The food appears fresh. Â The customer base is a little older than I thought it would be. Â Mostly seniors when I was here...
