Gave another chance to see if my original review was taken seriously! Â Proud to say it was! Â Soup was perfect! Â Waitress asked about the soup and the chicken, to see if it was served to suit me! Â Great service and the potato soup is as awesome as the one in Greenville! Â Fats, thanks for listening and responding so appropriately!
Review Source:I'm not a chain-restaurant lover by any means, but when traveling on business; I cannot always be choosy...so, I placed a to-go order from the online menu while in town. The "Lite" fare was great! It included shrimp & veggie skewers, which were filling, fresh, and tasty - and I ordered a baked sweet potato on the side. The food was ready right on time, and the price was fair.
Review Source:I normally try to avoid "chain" restaurants, but a local kept bugging me to try the Calabash Chicken at Fatz, so I went and was pleasantly surprised.
I went by myself for lunch on Sunday morning right before the church crowd showed up and got excellent service from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out.
I had a hard time choosing between their Pimento Cheeseburger, which came with a couple of fried green tomatoes on it. Â The note at the bottom said they could cook their burgers to order, which seems to be uncommon down here in these parts. Â Since I love my burgers rare, I thought this might be an opportunity to have a rare burger, but I also was tempted by the Shrimp and Grits. Â I ended up taking my friend's suggestion to get the Calabash Chicken.
The food was really well done for a chain. Â Calabash Chicken, their signature dish, is half a pound of chicken tenders deep fried with a special batter that is lighter than your normal chicken tender batter. Â It came out fresh and crispy and light and was served with honey mustard and at my request, some ranch dressing as well. Â You get your choice of one side and your choice of soup or salad. Â I went for the chicken rice soup and for my side, I had the cheese grits, which were also good. Â The meal comes with a couple of hot poppy seed rolls and some sort of sweet whipped butter which were delicious together. Â They offered me more rolls during the meal and I gladly accepted.
