FATZ

Went here for dinner after watching their commercial that claims they are better than AppleBee's. Not so much. We got the Cajun Firecracker Sticks appetizer. Tasty! But sadly, I'd say that was the best part of our meals! Hubby got the Farmhouse burger. Average meat lacking flavor. The egg topping was overcooked. I got the Calabash Chicken wrap, which sounded good since they claim it's "world famous." But it was nothing special. The place was busy so we sat at the bar to eat, which was fine. Our server was pretty cool and fairly prompt. The food is lacking though. I'd rather each at AppleBee's to be totally honest! Nothing to return for. Gave it a shot.

We were in Hendersonville for a wedding last weekend and woke up starving on Sunday, so we decided to try Fatz.  It was, well, ok.  That's the best way really to sum it up.  I would have loved to give them 2 1/2 stars, but alas, that was not an option.  So, on to the food.  We started out with fried green tomatoes....meh....ok I guess.  Overall, the tomato was cut way too thick and the sauce was too spicy.  For lunch, I had a sampler with ribs and calabash chicken with steamed broccoli.  The ribs and chicken were both pretty darn good and the portion sizes were ample.  I was able to eat the whole meal twice actually, so I guess that made it worth the $16 price tag.  My bf had a ribeye with bourbon butter that was just sickly sweet.  There's no way I could have eaten it.  I took one bite and was almost sick....it tasted like a cup of brown sugar melted in one pat of butter, blech.  Overall, it was okay and filled our bellies, but this place is clearly a chain and doesn't work hard to hide it.  

One thing that really bothered me and is perhaps negatively effecting my rating was the service.  It was slow, first of all, and refills were lacking.  But, after our meal, my bf signed his card slip and left it on the table.  Our server chased us out into the parking lot, asking us where the receipt was and lecturing us about how we should not leave the unsigned copy on the table.  My bf had to go back in with him to help him find it (it was clearly on the table) and the server continued to give him attitude, even with the $10 tip.
