This place is no longer called the Fifty Ate Bar And Grill - it's called the Wayback inn or maybe in.

In any case, the ownership changed about 7 months ago, though we just went in January.

The place is great, and should be an even better place to hang out in the summer when they hope to have bands and events.

We had the wayback inn pizza for 16.99 - fantastic pizza, and we were the first ones there so the owner, Tim, also made us what they call an inside out onion blossom? which is like a calzone stuffed with whatever he wants - fantastic!  Also he has his famous green sauce - we had both they spicy and non spicy version - I liked the hotter one better.  It's like a tomatilla and cilantro sauce but with something extra I think.

My son said it was the best pizza he's ever had (14 yr old), and I'm not sure about that, but it was probably in the top 5.  Fresh ingredients, homemade crust, great tomato, sausage, and peperoni.  Just great everything.  The pizza was loaded with goodness without being too soggy or underdone.

They have beer and wine, though not a big selection of either - I drank firestone and SJ drank coors light.  Sometimes they have goat milk too.  They said they should be getting a better variety of wine soon too.

The decor is old fashioned - walls covered with antiques, jar of rattlesnake parts on the bar, and everything is clean and well maintained.

We came back the following week and both had burgers and fries.  The meat wasn't as good as I had hoped - it looked like a frozen burger, but the toppings were fresh and the bun was good.

Their sign is an old board, painted white and hand lettered - I think they might get more business if they made it more professional.

    Open 12pm to 10pm daily.

Go along the dirt road - we always stick to the left and it's the building on the right - there are about 5 parking spaces out in front and a bazillion spaces in the RV park itself.

If you are in the area of O'donovan and Huer Huero - check it out - you won't be disappointed.  If you live in Santa Margarita or Creston- check it out, cuz it's awesome!

Tell 'em Sandy and Dave sent you!
