Sandwich was good, not great. It was a good value, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was quiet and enjoyable. However do not go here if you are in a hurry. Two people in front of me ordered one sandwich each. It was at least 10 minutes before my sandwich was done. That's too long to wait for one sandwich.

Just ehh.  I was in town for business and yelped a local restaurant.  I rarely don't agree with fellow yelper's so was very disappointed with my experience.  Should have known when i asked the cashier what she liked best and she said she didn't have a favorite that was a bad sign.  I got the potato soup, which was much better than my California turkey sandwhich, but not that good looked like frozen veggies in the soup. Turkey was slimy and the avocado tasted very similar to Costco guacamole :(   They had many choices and the deserts did look good.    The atmosphere is cute, but the food needs to be improved.

I'm in the midst of a month long road trip across the country, and an getting rather tired of fried, greasy food.

What a surprise to find this place! The sandwich I ordered was refreshing and very reasonably priced, and the ambience was great.

I travel past the town of Lebanon quite a bit making the trip from Chicago to Louisville. I'm so happy I have the best place in Indiana to stop for lunch. The sandwiches, soups and pastries are all homemade and amazing. It's a cute and quiet little shop with plenty of tables for dining in. The owners (husband and wife team) are friendly and helpful. If you find yourself near Lebanon make sure you can stop by The Fig Tree Cafe.

I was in Lebanon with a friend and wanted to find a quiet place for lunch and conversation. With Yelp, I found the Fig Tree. It is a small shop located across from the court house. Basically, the restaurant has two long rooms. The first has a small kitchen and counter where you order. The second has a number of tables mostly for two with a round table for four in the rear. There is a clean unisex bathroom. It is well lit, quiet for conversations and very clean.

You order your lunch at a counter from menus posted on blackboards. There are a variety of sandwiches (many choices), soups (large and small), salads and deserts. The prices range from $2.50 for a small soup to ~$9 for the "Honey Badger" (a sandwich). I had the Cheesy Harvest Potato soup and my friend had The Angus Shop sandwich (roast beef). Both were very good. What I enjoyed most about the place is that I was able to have a comfortable conversation with my friend. Due to an ill-spent youth, I am hearing-impaired and find conversation difficult in most places, but not here. I understand that the deserts are excellent as well.

After lunch, we walked into the Boone County Court House which is across the street from The Fig Tree. Wow! It is worth the visit.

Last week, I was at Lacy Boggs Optometry in downtown Lebanon and she offered to show me a cute local cafe for a quick lunch bite.  I'm so glad she did!  The owners are two young entrepreneurial go-getters.  Friendly, fun and trendy, the couple has created a lovely ambiance in a beautiful space just off the square.  I got the Northwood which is a pork loin sandwich with blueberry BBQ sauce and Ohhhh Myyyy Gooooodnesssssss....it was absolutely delectable!  The bun was warm and fresh!  Yummmo.

There was an array of desserts that also caught my eye but my ass told me to stay put and avoid them. I am sad I did.  It's a good thing I am going to pick up my glasses in a week or so b/c I can't stop dreaming of those lovely brownies and cookies and get a true taste!

For a perfectly affordable price, this is worth a stop in if you are in or out of the area.  Support this local couple and enjoy this adorable cafe which is unique and welcoming!  You won't regret it.
