Great little spot right in town and was exactly what I was looking for after a long day on the bike.  Fantastic beer list good chowder and a tasty burger.  We sat outside on the patio and ended an amazing day having a solid meal and watching the Sox.  Definitely recommended if you ever travel up this way.
On an odd note, we were helped by at least two different waitresses. Perhaps even three.  I hope there wasn't any infighting going on and they all got a piece of the tip.  If not I'm sorry to whichever one of you got cut out, and hopefully I'll make my way back to town in the near future and try and help you out.  Cheers

This is the best place in town to have some drinks and hang with friends. The pub atmosphere is cozy, and in the warmer months the outdoor patio seating is perfect. Oh yeah - and the food is also delicious!

Ok my VALENTINES DAY dinner, first they lost our reservations so we sit in the corner at a huge table, then the meal... Let me tell you I went here for New Years it was good but tonight Terrible I ordered prime rib and it was dryest piece of leather I've ever had with my hard baked potato and yes I would have said something if anyone had ever asked how my food was. I also ordered a hot tea to drink and heads up when you get someone more hot water a new teabag would be nice but thanks for the refil of hot water. I do not think we will be returning to Freight Yard unless I'd like some good bar food.

Visited this place for the first time in years today. I always forget it exists, on account of it's location. The state pretty much built an elevated roadway right next to the place, so you can't see it from the street.

This is better than average Pub fare. Ambiance is dark, with standard "stuff" nailed to the rafters. Waitress was a doll, I think her name was Hillary. Quick, friendly, adorable (Hey, I'm the giant biker you had today... call me...)

The food was excellent. I had a Clam Strip special. Clam strips were fresh, not frozen, with a light, flaky, tempura-esque batter. Cooked right, not too chewy. Excellent. The fries were tasty and crispy. The coleslaw was nice, light vinegar, not a lot of mayo. Came with a hot roll and butter. All for a very reasonable price.

I sat indoors, near the bar. They have many large TVs showing sports, so that's always nice. There is a large outdoor seating area too. I got a kick out of the signs everywhere with QR codes inviting me to scan them and "like" them on FB...

I'm trying to think of something bad to say about the place... and I can't. This is a wonderful little American Pub. Nicely done!

They have a nice, outdoors spot to have your meal and the waiter we had was really outstanding. His name was Jacob. Most seem to be local college students trying to make ends meet. They're all really very nice.

Food is marginal to good. I was looking forward to a Guinness on tap but the keg was kicked and they weren't planning to replace it for me. I had a can of Murphy's instead. Their on line menu showed Shepherd's Pie but that wasn't on the menu when we were seated. Not what I was expecting. The Clam Chowder was not as good as what was raved about in one of the reviews I had read. I've really had much better in many different restaurants. It's OK, but needed something. Maybe celery. It was flat but thick. Everyone's meal was passable but nothing to rave about.

It's a good place for bar food type cuisine. Don't expect much more than that. The people on the wait staff are the outstanding feature. All very nice and quick to respond.

Not too memorable, but with a lack of options for food in North Adams, it will do in a pinch.
Watch out for the loud and rowdy senior citizens at happy hour.

We live in SC and always make sure we stop here when were visiting family. The fish and chips and the calm chowder are the best we've ever eaten!! Seriously! I've stopped ordering fish and chips at other places because they never compare. Go. Order the chowda' and fish & chips!!

Great atmosphere. Great service. Great food!!

If you are eating in the Adams area on a Sunday during the day, stop trying to find somewhere open and just come here, because honestly it is one of maybe three spots total that are open on a Sunday. And for that, hats off to you Freight Yard!

They have a small selection of beer on top, the service isn't the best in the world, and overall most of the food is beer/pub food, but they are pretty big portions. Matt J's mom's club sandwich could have fed 2 people easily and my BBQ sandwich was so big I couldn't finish it. Their calamari was actually pretty tasty though! Not too breaded and fried, and it tasted fresh too!

All wood interior, and they are one of those cool places that has free popcorn too in case you are hanging out, oh and free wifi as well. Weird, right? I guess in case you want your iphone to work faster? Because I would laugh at anyone who brought a laptop in here ha

Not bad. Definitely 3-stars, but there's nothing wrong with a pub being 3-stars. Don't see 3 stars and get turned off, it's a good pub.

Me and my girlfriend went to Williamstown for a night and wanted to grab a dinner that wasn't crazy upscale or pricey, but still nice and small town feel.

The appetizers were about $9.99, and the dinners ranged from $12.99 to $20.00 roughly.

The waitress was attentive and the food was hot. They serve warm rolls and butter while you wait for your order - oddly they served them 3 at a time, even though there was two or us so an even number would make more sense - but they give you more so no big deal. My girlfriend got the 3-Cheese Ravioli (not sure the exact name) but she loved it. If you like cheese ravioli and pesto, try that. I got the a cheese burger and I asked for it 'medium-well' and it came out 'well' but still was pretty good. But, word to the wise, if you order a burger ask for it cooked a level down then you usually would. (Medium well? Ask for medium. etc) Fries were good though, a plus there.

Overall, if you want dinner and don't want a really upscale place not crazy prices (although a tad high for a pub), just your standard burger and fry type pub/restaurant, go here!

I was visiting Mass MOCA in September and doing some hiking on the Appalachian and Long Trails so I stopped on a Friday night. The Red Sox and Yankees were on so the bar was pretty busy.

There was also a guy was playing guitar and singing, adding some ambiance to the joint. The crowd seemed local ranging from 20s to 60 year-olds. I got talking to a couple of them and they basically said that this was probably the only decent place in town. It was pretty lively and the food seemed appetizing so I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was a really nice fillet with a tub of tartar sauce, slaw and lots of fries. The waiters were pretty efficient and as some other reviewer said, peppy. All-in-all, a decent place to grab a burger, beer and game.

A couple of local girls sat next to me so I bough them some drinks. We started talking and they were kind enough to drag me with them to the Polish National Alliance otherwise known as the PNA in nearby Adams, MA. See my review for that as well.

We ended up at the Freight Yard Pub partly because it's the only place open on a Monday night in North Adams and partly because it was the only place anyone we asked could think of to grab a beer.

Yes, the Freight Yard Pub (or FYP as they abbreviate) is mediocre.  But, you know what, I kind of expected that.  I expected everything I got, which was all solidly 3-stars.

Because they were the only game in town in the ($-$$) price range their parking lot was at capacity - so we ended up in the auxiliary lot after a 15-point turn to get our rental out of the small and dimply lit main lot.

The beer was ok, sad to not see more local brews.  The food was good, although, not memorable.  I feel like we had an appetizer (more than just the free popcorn they provided).  I had the fish & chips - which were not over battered or over-fried or overly-greasy.  My partner had the fajitas, which seemed to be the house specialty (weirdly enough).  It was a little more expensive and a little less-memorable than I would have liked.  But it sufficed and I left feeling and slightly intoxicated.

Freight Yard is the perfect example of a 3 star kind of place.  It's located in North Adams, down underneath a bridge, in a little square with some other shops.  All the other shops were closed when the parents, Joe and I came.  The place is a little dim inside, and it screams Americana, though I didn't find myself hating the decor a la TGIFridays.

Our server was a little on the peppy side, and even though she was extremely busy, she managed to still pay attention to all of her tables (ours included).  I tried one of the coffee liqueur drinks, and she had absolutely NO idea this particular drink was on the menu.  It was still tasty though.

For an app we ordered the Nachos.  They were your standard pub far nachos, nothing too special, in fact, I wish we hadn't ordered them since I felt a little full when I got my meal.  For my meal I got the steak tips (cooked medium, should have asked for medium rare though) with a side of veggies and a baked potato.  Overall the tips were good, but the flavor was lacking and not very memorable.  Some of them were a little overcooked, some were just fine.  I really enjoyed the vegetable selection and the baked potato was alright.  I snuck a bite of my Dad's scrod plate which I was eying, and I'm glad I didn't get it.  The bite I took was dry and not good.  My mom's pasta plate looked good and Joe's burger was tasty as well.

This is definitely the kind of place that I think a lot of locals frequent (what else do you do in North Adams anyway?) so if your in North Adams and want to get a taste of the local flavor, then come here.

This is your typical, run-of-the-mill pub. Nothing too crazy here. The food was decent (I had fish & chips), the atmosphere, fine. Service was good, drinks were cold, etc.

I wish I could add more, but it was really just your average standard pub. I may have been too exhausted at this point to notice anything else.
