Friendly Restaurants

I am pretty sure I love friendlys ice cream, but I don't think I will be back to this place.  The service was horrible slow, it took 30 minutes to just get our order taken.  Then the excuse we heard was "We are down a cook, but its fixed now, so you should get your food soon",  WHAT? Really?! OK then we get the food, it was the worst tasting, and displayed food ever!  

Then we made the MISTAKE of going to the bathroom! It was DISGUSTING!!  There was FOOD on the floor in the bathroom!!!!  

I do not recommend going to this place unless you like being sick, and or sitting around with no one to help you!

If you are in a hurry, do not rush over to Friendly's.  The food does not come out fast here, especially the ice cream.  I have actually been here quite a few times because of my kids, but it takes about an hour and a half to get through a meal.  I do like the fact that they have the Create-A-Meal menu on which I usually order a salad,  hot cocoa, and happy ending sundae all for $9.99 and my kids like to get hot cocoa or chocolate milk, sliders, corn, and a mint monster sundae.  Usually, I come into the restaurant with some sort of coupon too, such as a free kid's meal or $5 off $25, which makes it more tempting to endeavor on such a long mealtime, but I find that each time I eat at Friendly's, I am feeling a bit more annoyed as I leave.

The servers are...well, okay.  They are relatively young, highschoolers?  One of them in particular that I see often is really good and is the fastest, but the others...well, if you get them, you might as well make yourself comfortable because you will be in for a long wait.  The food, when you get it, is diner food.  Not much to be expected.  I just go there because it makes my kids happy and the price is not too bad with the coupons.

The main issue, as mentioned before, is the wait for the food.  First is the wait for the drinks.  It is the shortest of the wait times, but I do not think it should take longer than ten minutes to get your drinks, right?  Second is the main courses.  The food is not complicated.  Most of it is fried, I assume.  Made from scratch?  Definitely not.  Just heat and serve.  Why it takes more than 30 minutes?  Beats me.  The worst wait time is the dessert.  There is nothing worse than waiting for the dessert with two kids in tow.  How hard can it be to scoop ice cream into a cup, put on topping and put it on a tray?  Ridiculous.  This last time I went, I watched this poor family come in and wait for more than twenty minutes thinking that they were waiting for their meal only to see them get served ice cream!  Well, they were pretty mad and I felt so bad for them and was pretty angry that no one had come over during that whole wait time to talk to them about their situation.  The server did not seem very apologetic either.

Basically, even when Friendly's is not busy, the wait time for food will be very long.  If you really want to eat there and be prepared to wait and do not expect ordering ice cream to be any faster.

This place has an old dive feel.  We had good service and we actually enjoyed the food we had the problem was waiting so long for it to get to our table.  We were not expecting the wait but they did explain the grill got a little behind.  We took our Two year old and it was ok that she was moving around and having a good time.  We enjoyed the Food and my husband still stops in to get the 3 for 10 on the ice cream to keep at the house.  The only thing we didn't like was smelling like the resturant for 30 minutes after we left. I would go back if someone else wanted to but it won't be my first choice.

The bathrooms were nasty tho.  Very, nasty.
