  My husband wanted to stop and try this place, so we did. I wasn't expecting very much.  It's old, outdated and could use a good cleaning and paint job. My husband had the BLT and cup of soup. Soup was good and the BLT was about half of what I expected. I had the Beef and Cheddar, it was WOW!  The sandwich was soooo good !!  The beef was tender and flavorful. This sandwich had so much beef on it I could have made another sandwich with it. I had it on a bun, they also will put it on Texas toast on the grill. Next time I would like to try that. Don't pass up this sandwich, it's a meal in itself. The staff is very friendly here.

  I agree with Machele C.   Yes it's cheap.....you get what you pay for.  Even the coffee is weak.

  Gables is an old local favorite! The Restaurant is locally owned, made, and served! The atmosphere is definitely small town but worth the experience. It is known for its Wisconsin Friday Night Fish Fries! Last time I was there I was there for lunch. I remember I had this huge burger that was definitely Wisconsin style.. LARGE and in charge! If you are looking for a cheap place with generous portions this is the place. Enjoy it for me !
