Tough to only give them 3 stars, but it's just not what it used to be. I feel for them that it's expensive to get goods up to Sisters, but the prices are really difficult to swallow. My iced tea and chicken fried steak were fine, but including tip I was out the door at $19. That's just too much for the experience. I know I'll keep coming, but the relationship is becoming unhealthy...

A fun little breakfast place in Sisters. The servings are ginormous, my co-diners were a little shocked at the copious amounts of gravy that slathered their biscuits and hashbrowns. The omelet I had included veggies that were raw, not how I prefer but often how they are served in many a breakfast establishment. Our server was super nice and attentive, a nice older lady who kept the coffee coming.

Yes! Ok so it isn't the classiest joint but that is the charm people! It is like a Denny's with guns on the wall and much better food. Don't be afraid to stop in this place is great for breakfast and always a blast.

Recent years have found the Gallery rather hit and miss for food quality and value. Our crew had breakfasts there on October 2nd. The food was good but pricey. Our server, Kate, did a good job. I ordered a Swiss Cheese Omelet with house-made Chili. The Chili was disappointing and contained Beans. On a value received vs quality scale, I'd rate breakfast a 5. (It should be noted that I have been spoiled by decades of superior food quality and quantities here. They're old act is hard for their new one to follow.)

On October 7th our deer camp crew took our friends Kym and Bill to dinner. Ana and Jeanette, or servers, were spot on. The best meal of the eight seemed to be Kym's Deep Fried Prawns. Fish and Chip dinners, for which the place was once legendary, now come with Cod unless you upgrade to the, previously standard, Halibut, for an additional six dollars. Also, the Halibut Fish and Chips offer 3 fish pieces as opposed to 5 in the past. I had a Bleu Cheese Burger which will not be seen on my "Best Burgers" guide. It was good but pretty pedestrian and unremarkable. My request for Crisp Fries was respected. Nephew Michael and Chuck Artz the younger also had Burgers. Neither were wowed. Salads and F&C rounded out the table.

It may be worthy of mention that the dining room which has been SRO day and night for ages, is now closed to the dinner trade. Dinner is served in the bar only. An ominous harbinger for the future of this, generations old, Sisters landmark.

I always feel a pang of apprehension when I write a less-than-glowing review of the Gallery. If I had no historical frame of reference here, my criticisms would, very likely, be less severe. But I know what this kitchen has been capable of turning out in the past, so comparisons must, inevitably be drawn.

Nice place too eat if you like to people watch. Really cool decor inside. Ordered a club sandwich. The club came with 5 pounds of mayonaise, but other then that it was good. The beer was cold so at least that was going in there favor. I have eatin here a few times and everytime i wonder why i didnt go to the snowcap instead. I will say they have an amazing pie selection and they taste awsome.

I would give it zero stars if I could. They brought out brown guacamole and when we sent it bak they just said they had a bad batch - why would you even serve that?! The ground beef tasted like it was all filler... Avoid at all costs!

Have totally stopped going to this local restaurant due to their mediocre prepared/presented meals and the manager's poor treatment of their staff.  It is no surprise that they had to reduce their hours and our involved with formal complaints from former employees.

The Gallery has an amazing diner breakfast and I would have given the restaurant five stars if I didn't go back for lunch the next day.  Breakfast is a bit expensive for a diner (about $10 per plate), but the portions and quality more than justify the cost.  Our table had the eggs benedict, italian sausage scramble, country fried steak, and homemade applesauce.  Everything was great and if I am ever in Sisters again I will go back for the italian sausage scramble with a side of homemade apple sauce.  Lunch was similarly pricey for a diner, but less impressive than breakfast.  The $12 french dip was good, but nothing special and on the small side.  That said, go here for breakfast.

From the name I expected a hoity-toity place but then I saw the rifles on the walls and loved it. There was a bit of a line but we were quickly seated and waited on. The waitress, Katie, was quick-witted and an excellent waitress. The prices were good.I had ham and hashbrowns, my husband had biscuits and gravy and our son had a Denver omelette. It was all delicious! I highly recommend thus place for the food and the service.

I was afraid of what I was going to get in a kitchy tourist town for food....sometimes the food and service can be terrible because they know they have a captive audience.  My fears were unfounded here.  Good food (chicken Cesear Salad and a Burger for my hubby), very friendly chatty service.  Could tell that the locals eat here, our waitress asked a fellow diner about her visit to Ireland.  If the locals eat here, I think you're safe.  It was what I expected from a diner in a tourist town.

I do not recommend nor would I ever eat here.

For starters, it's dirty.  The food is your typical "greasy diner" style.  No flavor at all.

Sisters needs to step up and get some decent places to eat!!  It's pretty pathetic.

A classic "casual dining" style restaurant right in the heart of quaint downtown Sisters, The Gallery is my usual stopping spot if I'm in need of a bite on my way to or from Bend.  I've been going there for years, and it's always been solid.  When I was a kid I was all about the chili burger.  Today I had a nice bay shrimp cocktail, an excellent halibut fish and chips basket, and a huge, awesome slice of banana cream pie (I was so full I could barely move).  The waitstaff is the kind who seems like they've worked there for twenty years because they love it, with ready smiles and a pleasant demeanor.  The Gallery is absolutely the safest bet for a good meal in Sisters.

This is a classic diner-style restaurant that has booths and serves standards in their special way. Really, it's not spectacular, but it's a safe bet. I was very happy with my Cobb Salad, for one, the eggs were cut into eighths which I like a lot better than halves. My partner had the Gardenburger which was cooked all the way through and didn't taste like freezer burn.

Service was very good. What else do you want?

This is truly some of the most inedible food I've had since I was a kid.  The picture over our table of moose fleeing a wildfire should have been warning that's how we would feel after eating this food.
Vegetables were overcooked frozen peas or corn.  The mashed potatoes weren't mashed (a hard chunk remained) and were smothered in some sort of brown "sauce" with unidentifiable little chunks.
Even the apple pie was overcooked and made me gag.
If you want to enjoy some of the "local color," stop for a drink in the lounge but don't stay unless you can't walk out the door.

Great Fan of the waitress that served us as she saved us money by telling us to split a dinner order of their fish and chips.  Food was good too.

The decor and the food are perfectly paired.

Try the Swiss Burger, which is served on a hoagie and comes with aus jus. I had mine with hash browns instead of fries. Oh so delicious.

    Also: Taco salad is delish!

There's just something about the Gallery Restaurant that said "small town" ... maybe it was the almost too-pleasant waitress who never stopped smiling and said "thank you" or "okay" at the end of every sentence.  Maybe it was the menu and decor that obviously hadn't hardly changed since the place opened for business some 30-odd years ago.  Maybe it was the people ... obviously either locals having the "usual" or tourists eager to immerse themselves in just a moment of small-town life.

Regardless of the odd atmosphere, the service was adequate and the food satisfying though unremarkable.  All in all, this place was perfectly decent if a bit average and somewhat forgettable.  Perhaps I should have ordered their reportedly famous fish and chips instead, and maybe then I wouldn't have been so indifferent.
