The Game Room

Been itching to learn to play pool, but didn't want to hang out in bars. Tried The Game Room last week and had such a positive experience that I could barely wait to go back. Took my teens in with me today and they all loved it. TGR opens at 11am, perfect for lunch and an afternoon of fun. The facility is clean and well-organized. The staff and management are friendly and helpful. The prices for games and food are very resaonable and the food is delicious. You won't be dissapointed.

Just like many people in Provo, I had never heard anything positive about Ozz during my four years as an undergrad (including the time I lived less than a block away).  However, I heard that Ozz was finally under new ownership and that the new guys were really trying to revitalize the poolhall there at the corner of 500 North and Freedom.  I went in a few month ago when the Gameroom at Ozz was launched, I've been going back every week ever since.  The new management is awesome.  The prices have dropped, the quality of the tables has improved, and the environment is awesome.  They've added ping pong, air hockey, arcade games, and two sizes of tables (7 ft. and 9 ft.)  Every week I meet my buddy there to play pool for a couple hours and destress.  I've also taken several dates there so that we can talk in a clean, low intensity environment.  After going to Miracle Bowl, Fat Cats, and the BYU fun center to play pool and hang out, I've got to say that the Gameroom at Ozz offers a much better bang for your buck.  Miracle Bowl is pretty unkept and decrepit.  Fat Cats is overpriced and the music is too loud.  BYU is fun, but who wants to be on campus for a date?  The Gameroom at Ozz is cheap, clean, kept in good shape, and the music is kept at volume where you can enjoy it, but you don't have to yell at your date in order to talk.  To be honest, I think the Gameroom at Ozz is one of the best kept secrets in Provo.  Regardless if you're with your friends or on a date, you're in for a good time.
