Want to go out in tiny Moscow, Idaho? Don't want to be packed in with college students or dive bar "regulars"? The Garden is where you want to be.
Typically a mix of graduate students and young professionals this bar is a low-key location to grab a drink with some friends after work, or meet up with your study group after a late night session. While the atmosphere is reserved by no means is it quiet... there is a vibrant buzz throughout the space at all hours.
Check the Garden out for some good conversation, a respectful but lively crowd, and great drinks!
My favorite bar ever! It is posh, classy, and clean. The interior has a sleek design and an inviting atmosphere. Â It's very spacious and has several seating areas that include booths and tables. They also provide casual reading material like Time magazine. There are two bars, one on each floor, and there are also waitresses who will take orders at your table as well.
This place has a large drink list and great specials. It is very affordable and social. Best special is Blue Mondays, helps make Mondays seem not so torturous. Everything is delicious!
I went to the University of Idaho and spent MANY a night at The Garden. In a rural college town like ours it wasn't unusual to see a table or booth filled with a mix of college students, professors, and locals - all having drinks and all having a good time.
I LOVED going there to grab lunch and study because of its quiet atmosphere and LOVED going there at night when it's filled with people. I don't think I've ever even witnessed a bar fight in there and I lived there for 12 years. Wow.
I now live in L.A. and have YET to find a bar as good as The Garden. As an April Fools' gag, a friend of mine put on his facebook that The Garden was closing and once I figured out it wasn't true, I told him I was going to kill him. Saving up airfare.
If you find yourself in Moscow, go on in and grab a drink...it'll cost you less than 5 bucks with no pretenses and no such thing as a "stranger". Go Vandals!
Oh, The Garden. Â What can I say about you?
I have never, ever, EVER had drinks as good as I've had at the Garden. Â Even with new bartenders, my last memories of ten years ago of a great drink were not in vain. Â This place still has it. Â And cheap too.
This is my hands-down, all-time favorite bar. Â The Long Islands are still the best I've ever had. Not weak, not too strong, but a great flavor.
I loved that they had a lot of space to lounge around so instead of sitting at a table you can sit on couches and just hang out with friends
They offered a lot of drink specials and had a really laid back atmosphere.
The only thing I wasn't a fan of is that you can smoke inside the bar. The smoke can be pretty overpowering.
I can't believe no one else has reviewed this business yet. Â This is the place to go in Moscow. Â Why? Â Drink specials, super friendly staff, and the sheer amount of people on fri/sat nights. Â The chairs aren't bad, and the drinks are made well. Â For people who aren't in college, I would recommend going on a different night other than fri/sat. Â There's usually a pretty nice mix of people on other nights.
