If you want a decent pizza and food, this is a good place to go. I am only giving it 2 stars because I remember how it used to be when the previous owners operated it. It was legendary for lots of toppings and when you would pick your pizza up it was heavy. Â Compared to how it was and how it is now; well, there really is no comparison. Â It was just better when the previous owners owned it and cooked the food. Â The food has been very inconsistent, there are times that you will get a good meal then others that you do not; it is a gamble each time you order. Â
With all of this being said, if I had never experienced the old Giovanni's of Rio Grande, I would probably give it at least three stars.  The staff there is young, and if you dine in they do not check on you, and you have to go to the front to ask for additional items.  When you call to order for carry out it seems as though they want to rush off of the phone, and it borders on rudeness.  The location is okay but the decor is not the greatest, but it is a small town and if the food and service were superb it would be considered part of the ambience of the whole place, as the old Giovanni's was. It had cheesy decor but it had this good old-fashioned  hole in the wall with good food feel, and you totally overlooked it. Â
I would recommend this place, but if I want good, consistent pizza, I go the extra distance to Oak Hill to Kali's Pizza.
