Glory, Glory Days! Love em'! Â Whenever I want some good "bar food" I come to Glory Days and they never disappoint. Â I love their wings, I would prefer them to cook them a bit longer so they can fall off the bone, but they're delish none the less. Â Try the "Glory" sauce on them. Â Sweet with a hint of heat in the background. Â They have their famous wings, hamburgers, tacos, crab pretzels, and fish & chips are a few items that are listed on the menu. Â Drinks are pretty good (depending on the bartender on duty), tv's all around the restaurant and select appetizers are 1/2 price after 9pm...good deal! Â They even cater events. Â I've had them cater a few pans of chicken wings for a couple of my parties and they were always a huge hit! Â You can call to place your order and drive up to have it delivered to your car. Â Great neighborhood restaurant for the entire family.
Review Source:Ok, so we enjoyed our outing at the Irish Pub on Saturday, we wanted to check this place out because it was closer to home and I was always intrigued by the place- I've read the reviews but it always looked empty from the road. Â Well, part of the reason for that is the majority of the parking is on the side that you really don't see- but from what looks like the front, those spaces tend to stay empty, so we stayed away.
Well, it was Easter Sunday and we were looking to go somewhere we thought the ravenous churchgoers might not go, so why not a sports bar, right?
I'll admit to being somewhat apprehensive because we didn't know what to expect- so it was all a pleasant surprise. Â We were seated almost as soon as we walked in; we had an endearingly awkward server by the name of Sung who turned out to be quite good- we never lacked for anything and he came by periodically to check on us.
For me, timing is key- I like to be checked upon, but not to the point of disturbing my meal...this kid had it down to a science. Â It wasn't too crowded, the buzz was low- we weren't alone, it just wasn't filled to capacity. Â I can imagine it gets pretty loud, especially during HH and any sporting event.
I only gave it three stars, I know- this is a good place, we had a good time, but I was not blown away. Â For starters, I ordered a Black & Tan and it came back looking kind of muddy- not really a cause for complaint but when one orders one of those, part of the desire is to see the two separate components clearly defined and this just wasn't the case. Â Didn't change the taste, just the presentation. Â We ordered onion rings and mozz sticks for appetizers and they were ok, I've had better elsewhere, but it was ok.
We both ordered burgers (again, I know) and those were actually very good; there's nothing worse than a bland burger- why does everyone think that you need to grind up a choice cut of meat for a burger? Â Ground chuck- best cut to make a burger with; on the menu it says they grind up steak but they don't say what kind...given that it had good flavor, I'm inclined to think it'll be one of the more fatty cuts (the fat's where the flavor's at, don't ever let them tell you different) as it was very good.
Ultimately, we were looking for an alternative to the Texas Roadhouse- a nice place, w/nice staff but we didn't want to go there (their burgers tend to be on the bland side)...I'm glad we came here and since it is so close, we plan on going back real soon. Â I want to have a go at some of their entrees...it may raise my overall rating, all depends. Â If you're looking for a decent sports bar with good food and better service, you can't go wrong coming here.
