Saw favorable Yelp reviews so my wife and I checked out this little restaurant located about 1.5 miles North of the Walmart on South side of Goshen. Â It is listed as Vietnamese in Yelp and I assume this is accurate. We were there around 3 pm so only couple patrons in the cafe. No separate menus for lunch and dinner but they do have several lunch specials. They also serve breakfast. There are a number of tables along with a lunch counter. Service was excellent with very friendly staff. Â Several staff members interacted with us and thanked us for coming in.
We stared with fried spring rolls {$3 for three} which were very good. I had the House Mix for $8.95 which was excellent. Thin vermicelli noodles served in a large bowl with mint, thinly sliced beef and cut up egg rolls. Lettuce and bean sprouts are served in a separate bowl and you mix them in and add a sweet and sour sauce with pieces of peanuts to your liking. My wife had the Asian Crepe {also $8.95} which she thought was very good. Like my dish the primary ingredient is vermicelli noodles but it has chicken and pieces of crepe to which you add the lettuce/bean sprouts.... and the amount of sauce to your preference.
They have large pictures which show you what the dishes look like and ingredients are listed on the menu. This makes it easy to order if you are not acquainted with Vietnamese food. Several of the menu items are only available on the weekends. To compliment your meal they provided Sriracha sauce, chili garlic sauce and jalapeno  peppers to add to your food if you like it hot. They have large water glasses which are great if you like spicy food.
The website link on Yelp did not work but there are several images of their dishes on Yelp. We will definitely go back and will try other items next time.
As usual, good as ever! Â I had a Fried Talapia sandwich and it was great. I could taste ingredients! so many restaurants now have their foods so full of salt and grease that you can't taste the Food. My wife and 19 month old had a great time too.
The Staff is always very kind, going above and beyond what most establishments do. The place feels comfortable. My wife and her friend come on weekends to do some writing and sip at their speciality sweet drinks (bubble teas and what not) and they are welcomed every time.
While it has cafe in the name, it's by no means small or restricted in what it has to offer. Â Golden Monkey Cafe offers a variety of bubble teas, thai coffee/tea, and other beverages. Â In addition, it also offers a full range restaurant menu ranging from breakfast to dinner items.
I tried the bubble teas, the house mix, and the steak fried rice. Â All of these were excellent in quality, though the house mix was a bit in the high price range for what it is. Â The house mix is a mix of rice noodle, greens, bean sprouts, steak, shrimp, slice up egg roll croutons, and a light sauce. Â It was excellent in both flavor and texture but somewhat cumbersome to eat how it was prepared (probably just me though).
While pricey at 5.50 each for a bubble tea, they are very flavorful and fruity and are larger than most bubble teas I've had before. Â They are more like tea and liquid that like iced smoothies though, so take that into consideration when ordering.
All in all the staff was very helpful and offered good recommendations. Â I would definitely go back, especially to try some of their pho, which I saw others eating.
This is just a noisy little cafe tucked along a main street in Goshen, but the food is outstanding. The service was great and the staff very attentive. I sat at the "bar" and asked for a recommendation on what was good. I ended up with a "House Mix' which was a bowl of noodles lightly seasoned, beef, shrimp, bean sprouts, fresh julienne cucumbers, green onions, and shredded lettuce. The special part was the tiny egg rolls that were cut in half and tossed in like flavorful croutons. The flavors were just right and there was no heavy overbearing sauce to detract from the blend of fresh flavors. I did order a large bubble tea and still the whole bill came in under $13 with the tip included. Noisy cafe, food is fresh with good flavors.
