My girlfriend and I stopped by here on our way to Lake Tobias. Inside is fairly small and the specials were written on a piece of scrap paper. Â I was definitely a little worried and even wondered if this was the inspiration for the diner in "My Cousin Vinny."
The menu can be a little daunting because theres quite a spread. Â I ordered the "hot pork" despite feeling like the name alone wasnt too appetizing. I was pleasantly surprised when I received pulled pork on white bread, covered in gravy. The pork was great and I was more than happy with my meal. My girlfriend's chicken fingers were good too. our server was a sweet old lady with a good sense of humor.
I don't know I'd I'll ever be up in that area again, but I'll definitely be going to Gonder's if I am. Â My only complaint is that the menu doesn't describe the food well enough.
Just the place you need for Bar-B-Que. Â If you are having a party at the house or just want a quick sandwich, this little hole in the wall does it right. Â It may not be much to look at, and you may just drive right past it if you are not careful; but this place makes good solid food.
