Love the vibe and cosy atmosphere in this neighbourhood pub! Highly recommend this place for a hearty bite and relaxing atmosphere. We were in Grand Forks for business, and discovered it upon a local's recommendation.
Super yummy and delicious meals in hearty portions -- the borscht soup was excellent, and so was the Chef's Salad and the Burgers. We enjoyed it so much, we went back twice in two days!
The waitresses were attentive and friendly, and made the whole experience thoroughly chill-out and enjoyable.
It was Prime Rib Friday night.  And on Christmas eve, I'm here in a small town near Grandforks typing up this review of  a pub that has alot of history and charm.
We seated next to the big fireplace that gave us a comforting warmth as we soaked in the country atmosphere on a cold winters eve.
The hockey game was just about to start as we looked over the menu and decided on ordering two prime rib dinners with Yorkshire pudding and one pork tenderloin with cheese and orange sauce.
My Mother got her Prime rib med to well done (not my preference) and my brothers choice was chosen well for a medium rare cut of meat. Â His choice was tender and succulent and the gravy and pudding was a perfect match with the horse radish.
I had the Pork tenderloin which was a bit on the hard and dry side, but the sauce made up for that. Â So good that I wished I had more to put on my veggies and rice!
I had wilde rice instead of potato. Â I think it was a good choice.
Free refills on our soda water and the waitress was very friendly.
This place certainly has enough charm that I will not wait another 10 years to come back. Â My next trip, I will be back!
Where to eat in Grand Forks.
Here!
Why? Good food, good service and choices! There is upstairs in the more family style converted station house, or downstairs in the bar or outside on what used to be the passenger platform.
This is the second converted train station we've come across on our trip across Canada. I'm sure there are more and I'd like to find them, sighhh.... more time, more energy, more money....
Take a drive. It's a trip.
