Oh. My. Yuck!
I don't know what happened to this place. Â It use to be good and fairly priced for what it was. Â However, everything we had was horrible. Â Just plain horrible. Â It's been a long while since I ate here but when I did it was far better then chains such as 99' Applebee's, Chili's , TGIF etc. Â Something has changed and not for the good. Â I looked up their website after our horrible meal and saw that they are now affiliated with Best Western. I'm not sure when that happened but I now see why the change in quality.
My meal was very bad. Â I ordered a "Prime" strip steak at $22. What I got was a shitty quality steak that was brined and tattooed with fake grill marks then micro warmed . Â And it was luke warm because I ordered it MR and that meant they could only nuke it to heat it for a few seconds without it over cooking. Trust me, I know my steak. Â this was not prime. Â And I've had better quality steak from places like Golden Coral which is an all you can eat buffet. Â It reminded me of a steak from the former Ponderosa restaurant only much worse. Â It was rubbery from the microwave reheat and totally fake tasting from the fake grill marks and salty brine. Â For my two sides I chose the "fresh steamed broccoli" and grilled "fresh" asparagus. Â the asparagus was a $3.50 up charge but I knew that when I ordered it. Â What I got for veggies might at one point in time been fresh but I doubt it. Â both the broccoli and asparagus where obviously frozen. Â They were watery, rubbery nasty bits of something that could have been good. Â But they were not. Â obviously frozen at one pint and reheated for my order.
next, the nachos. Â A huge pile of heaping sogginess. Â They were awful. Â If you like a huge mound of stale tortilla chips topped with very wet ingredients such as bottled salsa and runny chicken, then these nachos are for you. Â Everything was mushy. Â And the toppings were only on the top leaving a huge heap of stale tortilla chips under the messy top.
I'm giving this place one star because I ordered their blueberry lemonade and it was decent. Â A bit over the top sweet but it actually had real, fresh blueberries in it.
So in a nutshell, this place was once good for decent, simple, inexpensive eats. Â Not so much now. Â The prices have skyrocketed and the quality really sucks.
I'm now saying "farewell" to a longtime favorite spot for eats on the cheap. Â Sorry Ground Round but you're no longer my cup of tea. Â And I blame Best Western for your demise.
