This place is bad ass!!! Â Looks like a broken down warehouse on a construction site. We drove right by it even while using the GPS. It's dark, smokey, $2 PBR in a bottle, and a shit ton of bands. The acoustics are great and they have some awesome bands on their line up. Another added bonus, while using the women's bathroom if you leave the main door open you can see the stage from the stall. The doors are a little short. It's totally an awesome underground venue that I wish was closer to my home.
Review Source:There's not much sense in maintaining the inside of a place that can get packed to capacity with lots of young people getting into the music, Â and usually forming pits.
I've been going to GZ since forever, and I've never had a bad experience there. They're not just about metal music, they support music of all types. And yes, they are one of the few venues in the Southeast that will book a lot of the less mainstream bands.
For some of their shows, you can pre-order tickets. I've always just paid at the door. And the bands that play are allowed to set up their merchandise for sale to help them get gas money to get to their next show.
The people out there are like family to me. They support musicians and music lovers like nobody else around here ever has. And they have the best bar prices anywhere. Best place to get information about upcoming shows is the club's myspace page.
Rock and roll babe! Â The one and only venue that would support ear wrenching music in the Spartanburg/Greenville area. Â Unfortunately, this area isn't know as a prime spot for bands to tour to - South Carolina tends to get skipped. Â BUT just in case, there's GROUND ZERO for those that do want to share their music to the masses. Â If you want louder than usual music check out their website and go bang that head!
