Had it not been for the good eats and refreshing brews at Grumpy Girl, our impromptu day trip to Potosi could have been a disappointing one.
Stopped by Potosi while camping nearby after hearing about the Potosi Brewfest, which we discovered had been sold-out upon our arrival. Â Then, after deciding not to wait 45 minutes to get served at the restaurant across the street, we wandered over to the Grumpy Girl at the Legion Hall. Â
All of the tappers were occupied by local brews (several Potosi brews, of course, and a New Glarus) with the exception of Hacker-Pschorr. Â Tap beers were cheap and better quality than beers we would typically drink at that price. Â We were quite pleased with the homemade cheeseburger pizza we ordered. Â I'm not usually a meat pizza kind of gal, but this really tasted like a cheeseburger, which was pretty great!
Dave, the owner, was friendly and conversational. Â We were looking for a local place to rent a canoe and he quickly looked up a place on his laptop and provided us with directions and contact info for a place on the Grant River nearby, which proved to be a great little canoe trip!
All in all, Grumpy Girl is a good place for decent beers, good food, and friendly service at a great price!
