Guma's Restaurant

To begin, I used to like Guma's when it first opened.  Over the past several years the quality has declined considerably.  The pies are still good...particularly the pecan pie and the peanut butter pie.  

There are just so many other areas of the restaurant that are bad though.  First, my coffee cup still had pink lipstick on it from a previous customer...obviously not washed thoroughly...that's inexcusable.

My wife ordered her steak medium...they served it well-done, tough as shoe leather.  The coffee was bad even by diner standards...it tasted old an burned.

My western omelette was acceptable, nothing special.  The best part of the meal for any of us was the homemade jam...it is seriously good.

Overall experience was lousy, the service is minimal, the food mediocre, and the unclean dishes just unacceptable.

This place has a simple, yet yummy breakfast buffet on Sundays. There is sausage gravy! Need I say more? Guma's is great for breakfast any day of the week, Guma's is the kind of place that puts the "Country," in "North Country." Also they have pies to go! If you are in Plattsburgh, you should have one of your breakfasts at Guma's.

Out of the way, but the best place for a country-style Sunday morning breakfast buffet.  Locals only (except for the occasional Canadien sailor), this place is know for serving honest, solid cooking.  

Go out of your way if you are visiting the Plattsburgh area, it's well worth the drive ( 20min from downtown)
