Gusto's Italian Grill and Pizza

I live about 45 minutes away from Shattuck, but have been to Gusto's a couple times now because it's totally worth the drive. The people are incredibly friendly, the restaurant is clean and well-decorated, and the food is delicious. Whether you're passing through, or you have to make a special trip, I'd recommend it.

So, I came to town for the weekend and my boyfriend and I popped in for lunch. This was his fourth trip and he was excited for me to try it. Shattuck is so limited on restaurants we were both very excited about the opening. Ok, first thing, the place itself is NICE! Clean and well lit. We got our menus promptly and decided on the sausage meatball appetizer. I ordered the gusto pasta with steak and my boyfriend had the pasta bolognese. The appetizer was ok. I felt like it was under cooked and under seasoned. The sauce that they were served in tasted canned. My pasta however was really good, the ingredients fresh and delicious. My boyfriend was equally pleased with his entree. Pro: a really nice location and upgrade from the other choices in town. Con: if I'm paying 11 dollars for lunch I want clean, polished silver wear and a glass. Not a plastic cup. Also, a small selection of wine would be awesome. Overall, it was good but needs attention to detail. PS.the daily specials posted on Facebook are genius
