Halo Video Bar

Far and away the best club in BCS. The contrast with the gross sleazy places at Northgate could not be more startling. When you get tired of the shootings, stabbings, police raids, drug dealing, rape attempts, and general mayhem of the Northgate "clubs," come here for a reality check.  I've gone here with dates, taken friends here, sometimes gone solo, and have always had a great time. Place usually doesn't get hopping until 11, so prepare to come late and stay late.  Another reason why the cool kids choose Bryan!

They are serious about the "no shoes, no service".   Was walking around downtown Bryan barefoot, stopped in for a beer and was kicked out for not wearing shoes.  Have heard the bartenders don't wear shirts so it didn't seem inappropriate to me.   Whatever.

Only place in BCS where I can really dance my ass off.
Located away from the Northgate scene, Halo feels like it should belong on 6th Street along with places like Malaia or Kiss&Fly (but obviously not as big). The lights are good, the music (techno/techno-ey pop) is right down my alley, the drinks are strong, the drag shows are fun, and the shirtless bartenders are ohsonice to look at...err I mean talk to.
Only a couple minor downsides: $5 cover for everyone every time we've been (not bad but very few bars charge cover in BCS) and drinks are more expensive compared to other BCS bars. Just a small price to pay in exchange for the kind of atmosphere that you won't be able to find anywhere else in this small town.
