Awesome little bar. We watched the Super Bowl there, and even though it was packed, the waitress was welcoming and immediately found us a table and pulled chairs from seemingly out of nowhere to seat us. Not sure how, but she did this again when a large family of 6 came in. Great hospitality, great service, fun locals and very warm; no trace of any small-town locals-only vibes whatsoever. We only had the edamame appetizer because we were headed to dinner, but it was tasty, the burgers looked amazing, and the menu was extensive for a bar.

This place rocks!  If you're in Hilo and heading north to the end of the road this joint is a must stop.  We came on this bar on a sleepy Sunday morning while looking for eats, only place in town open that early.  What a great stop.  Try the "Juicy Lucy", one of the best  I've had anywhere!  Totally accessable.

Beautiful day drive so I took my adult son and teenage daughter to Honokaa to spend the day.  Gave my daughter the choice of this or Tex's.  She chose this place.  We went in and started with edamame which was an excellent start.  We ordered various sandwiches and were pleased with our meal.  Ice cold beer and soft drinks, good pupus, good lunch, friendly service, and a reasonable tab made the day.  We will be back!!!

watched the Western Days Parade from the front boardwalk.  great mix of friendly people.  Longboard Lager on tap.  Barmaids dressed for the "Saloon Girls" contest...great times.  plan to go back when I have more time to chill

Oh the Hamakua Sports Bar. What can I say? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! When I walk into this place, I feel like I'm in an old country western in a saloon! SERIOUSLY. There are old men sitting at tiny wooden tables with beers in hand, chit-chatting away. My friend even said that once, there was a HORSE outside. Tell me that's not old country western. Haha.

The TVs they have are a little small for a sports bar, but for a small town, it'll do. The prices are pretty good - I love Steinlager and they had $2.50 Steinlagers. :) So, I was a happy camper.

They even have a popcorn machine. :) And they make you popcorn. Kind of like how bars have peanuts and stuff. It's pretty nifty.

When my friends and I went here, they had just opened so they were giving away free signs if you could answer questions. My friend got a Heineken Light sign from someone that didn't want it. And one of my other friends won a different sign. It was pretttttyyyy cool. :)
