I don't know why I continue to come here, everytime I am disappointed. The service is always terrible and the food is mediocre at best. Ask for your burger medium and it comes out well done. Bottomless mimosas that are so weak you can't even taste the champagne.

Out of this world burgers and fries.  If your gluten free the fries are not for you.
We will come here again for sure , super cute inside. Great bar area too. Very kid friendly. Great selection of retro/vintage soda pops

The Hamburger Mary statue out front is hot!  I really like the cool decor here.

I had the $16.99 wild boar burger.  The flavors from the boar, lettuce, tomato, and bun were excellent.  The problem with this burger is it's a bit too big and was hard to eat.  Juice was dripping everywhere and the bun got soggy.  I was barely able to finish it.  This burger would be awesome if it was about 25% smaller.

The beer battered onion rings I ordered as my side were very good.  Nice crunchy outside with a good batter to onion ratio.  The rings here are better than most fast food places.

Great tasting food here but a bit pricey.

As a South Carolina native, I never get to experience great franchises like Hamburger Mary's. Thankfully, business brought me to the area and I finally got the opportunity this last Saturday night. I honestly can't say a bad thing about this place!

Of course, I read Yelp first, just in case. No concerns there.

I ordered the Buffy Burger with sweet potato fries and I might just have to come cross country simply to have this delicious burger again! The menu has an immensely awesome sampling of burgers and sides.

I also want to mention that the employees and managers are great, as well as the atmosphere! Cruz the manager assisted me with my order. He made some great recommendations and ultimately helped me choose what I ordered. He was very accommodating and friendly (something I find rare in concept restaurants).

I commend Hamburger Mary's as an excellent place to stop and have a great time with great food! Try the Buffy Burger! Thanks Cruz!

One of my favorite places in town.  I always stop in when i come through, just to get one of their juicy hot burgers.  Love Love Love!

Their "happy hour" is not so happy. When the sign says "1/2 off appetizers and drinks" it would seem that it would be pretty simple. A draft beer was full price, the sliders which were listed under appetizers on the menu were full price.

They did have a table sign that explained this, but does everybody really read those things. I would think that our server (who turns out to be the day manager) should explain "the rules" of happy hour when we were ordering.

We get a group of friends go out on thursdays to different places, sometimes there are 4 of us, sometimes there are 10. Needless to say, after the way we were treated, when we explained our confusion, we wont be back.

No wonder this place is on the market to be sold.

Came into town on a whim for the night from HB. After, spending all day at the pool...My 2 year old, my hubby, and I were starving and decided on Hamburger Marys. Service was outstanding!  And the food was delicious.  Good music on the flat screen to keep the little one occupied and out came his hot/fresh chicken tenders. Will def come back again when on vacation!

My husband and I went there for breakfast. There were only a handful of people in the place and it took ten minutes to get water. That was our first clue but since we were so hungry we decided to stay. The second clue was the horrific iced tea. How can you screw up iced tea?  It's possible here. Let me not forget the watered down grapefruit juice.

We ordered breakfast tacos and some eggs and chicken chorizo. My husband will eat just about anything... Except their eggs and chicken chorizo. Since our waiter was never to be seen we didn't get a chance to return it. When he finally came around to deliver our check he apologized for the meal and charged us anyway.

I don't think we have ever left a zero tip anywhere but we did today and it was well worth it. Actually a zero tip was too much. We will be walking right by this place each time we visit Palm Springs. Hugely disappointing.

I really don't eat many burgers (maybe one every 3-4 months, and I sure the hell ain't trying to eat my way to elite status on yelp), but Hamburger Mary's has some pretty great tasting burgers. I came on a Saturday night around 7pm and was seated immediately. They had several all day drink specials for $4 each. I ordered the BBQ bacon cheeseburger and my other half ordered the Hawaiian burger. We spilt each others portion and both burgers were really fucken savory and juicy. I cleaned my plate and thought to myself "if burgers were always this good maybe I'd have them more often." The downside -it could get a little pricey for a burger, but if your going to splurge on a burger than it's well worth it. I can't say I'll be here every weekend, but if I'm in the mood to be a Mary i'll swing in for a bite.

Slow Slow service, the place was empty. We walked by it 3x before finally conceding to our hunger. Food took FOORRREEEVVER to come out. Fries were raw, but forget trying to get a waitress. Very cheap meat, dressing tasted watered down, jalepeno poppers were sooo straight out of the frozen aisle. Seriously will go to jack in the box instead next time.

This place looks so fun so the one time a co-worker and I stopped in was a complete disappointment.  I ordered nachos and received stale chips topped with canned and packaged foods.  It was inedible and I have never returned.

I haven't been to HM in about 4 years. The last time I was here the experience was not good. Service was terrible and the fries were cold.

Went today with friends and even though I got cold fries AGAIN, Mark, our server was so awesome and sweet that he brought piping hot fries with a smile.

    The burger was good too.

So they redeemed themselves...but they got 3 stars for the following reasons.

The men's bathroom is really bad. The door to the commode doesn't close all the way and leaves a 4-5 inch gap. And the urinal is open and one can be seen doing their business while someone washes their hands. Now I know some guys don't care - but I'm a private person when it comes to public toilets. Honestly this needs to be fixed.

The tables on the floor are too close together. I don't necessarily want to keep adjusting my chair to give access to the servers as they wait on other tables.

Good drink specials and friendly service. I was going to order the kangaroo burger (literally kangaroo not a fancy name) and the server asked if I had had it before. Being my first time she recommended the sliders so I could try it and a couple of the other wild meats. I'm so glad I did.. The kangaroo was weird! Like a fishy steak almost.

I have never been more saddened with an experience at a Mary's in my life. I WILL NOT ever return. My friends (8 of us) are on vacation and wanted to have a fun dinner together. Not only were we disrespected by the staff, but told that we were being too loud by who i am assuming was the manager on duty when we were not being loud at all... But our server was a complete moron and couldn't even take a simple order. Our water was never refreshed. And through out the entire dinner the server would slam things down on the table and was over all completely rude and out of line. I have serving experience as does half of our group and i was utterly irate with how we were treated and had to walk out before truly getting loud with a manager. Like I said before, I will not be back to this establishment ever again an I would challenge the joint to step up their game and show some respect to the people who eat here. Maybe the place is empty because they treat everyone this way.

Something you'll never see anyone complain about here is the Hamburgers, and for good reason. They are the best hamburgers in this area hands down. I don't know about the Cobb Salad or the Scrambled Eggs etc... I go the Hamburger Mary's for  Hamburgers...duh. Pretty much any kind of hamburger you can think of, and probably several that never crossed your mind. The drinks at the bar are great and we've always had friendly and often fun service. My angel likes there Veggie Burgers, and they make them any way you want. I also love the Turkey Burgers. Same thing, just replace the beef with whatever. Remember, it's called "Hamburger Marys" ... not Egg and Cheese Omelet Marys.

I never understood the concept of huge burgers! The whole purpose behind the invention of the burger in the first place was for convenience. They grind the meat down to make it easier to chew and added the bun, lettuce and tomatoes so we can enjoy an entire meal all in the while of driving our cars.

With the huge burger however, it is practically impossible to hold with one hand, let alone trying to eat it on the road. As a matter of fact, you can't even fit the thing in your mouth. Especially Mary's burgers, her version of this American stable is massive. Not even with the assistance of a steak knife and fork could I try fitting that thing in my mouth. I had the Avocado burger and had to remove most of the avocado, lettuce and tomatoes before I was able pick it up.

The whole experience was messy and grotesque. I had meat juice running down my arm and ketchup and mayonnaise smeared across my face and the dinky amount of napkins they provided was not nearly enough to wipe down the mess I left behind. But I was impressed with myself, because I managed to consume the entire burger and fries and downed the entire bottle of beer they recommended. My boyfriend was appalled but the food was good and I could care less about how barbaric he thought I was.

I am still not a fan of huge burgers, but I will make an exception for Hamburger Mary.

"Should I be concerned that the shot glass is sticky?"

"No, it's alcohol so it'll burn off all of the germs."

    "Cheers then!"

There was the vague sense that the joint could be cleaner, but beyond the viscous shot glasses, it was not like there were roaches having a pow wow.

The drink specials were robust, including seasonal Sam Adams for 4 bucks and blackberry witches (I may be making this name up) for 1 dollar.

Subdued crowd for a weekend, but a good sidewalk stop and gawk spot.

I just visited Palm Springs and had an awesome dinner here, and the food and service was so excellent, I really felt compelled to write about it...

My friend and I saw the restaurant from the main drag while looking for a place to eat that was not too expensive or formal, and the restaurant just kind of stuck out to us in a good way. The decor is island chic, for lack of a better term. Comfortable orange molded chairs and wooden tables, a lot of open spaces and air flow. Our table was right in front of a small grove of palm type trees, and the restaurant itself was packed but intimate for us, and still not feeling crowded which was very nice.

We arrived at the beginning of the dinner time rush Friday night, a very busy evening for the restaurants in downtown P.S. We were seated promptly and had drinks on our table within a minute or two if that. Upon viewing the menu, we were both quite overwhelmed, but in a very positive way. The menu has so many awesome items on it, including every kind of burger in existence (regarding protein types and fixins), as well as salads, sandwiches, pizzas and platters.

Our server was very friendly, funny and genuine. He was very busy and got more so as the night progressed and dinner crowd steadily funneled in but stayed very attentive to us and made sure we had everything we wanted, and also that our drinks stayed full and we were enjoying our meal.

After some serious internal and external deliberations, we chose to begin with the fried pickles, which were whole spears of dills battered with a slightly spicy coating and fried to perfection. The pickle was warm and juicy, and the coating was crispy but not too oily at all. The chipotle ranch dressing dip was the perfect accompaniment to them, and nothing like I have ever tasted before...especially when compared to the dill chips most restaurants serves and pass off as fried pickles.

I ended up having the Blue Boy Burger, which was a 1/2 lb behemoth of beef covered with fresh crumbled blue cheese, a spread, and bacon. On top of this, I ordered a side of mac and cheese (which is also a burger option) and put that on top of the burger too. The mac and cheese was perfectly gooey and rich and home made, and not Stouffers or Velveeta by any means. The french fries were fresh cut and seasoned, and were also fantastic. My friend had the Caesar salad and the lettuce was fresh and crispy, the portion size was pretty large and the dressing did not taste like store bought or prepackaged by any means.

Dessert was deep fried Snickers with Ice Cream and the portion was plenty enough to share...and by the end, we were very full and satisfied all the way around. For our entire meal, three courses for two people including drinks and tip, we were out the door for less than $50 and it was money well worth it!

I had mentioned at the beginning of the meal that I was visiting from out of town, and our server made sure to welcome me back the next time I visit by the way I was treated during this one. Hands down I recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a meal and time to remember, and keep up the awesome service and work:-).

I feel sad writing this review because Mary's is such an establishment but the truth is I had a pretty terrible experience. I went with a group of 7 for sunday morning brunch and was surprised and thankful that they could seat us all together immediately. Everything was going well until my friend and myself ordered "fresh" OJ. Before ordering we made the point to ask if the OJ was fresh and the waiter responded "Of course, its amazing"  "Great, we'll have two"

When the OJ arrives, Adam takes a sip and asks the waiter, "we're you lying to me earlier, this isn't fresh"
    "Of course it is... "
"Was it squeezed out of an orange"
"Well no.. but it didn't come from a machine"
"You need to rethink about the way you are defining 'fresh'"

This semi-escalated when we said we weren't going to be paying 4$ for a class of OJ that comes from any sort of container and that this wasn't what we were expecting when we placed our order. The waiter said "OK" then basically yanked the glasses from our hands. We were shocked. I've never seen a waiter do this. Ever. Rather then just comping the OJ, the waiter held his ground in taking the OJ away from us which felt like a way of punishing our 'bad behavior'.  What he didn't realize is in that moment he lost 7 future customers and then some.

When the food came out it was covered in a layer of grease/oil/something shiny. I could basically see my reflection in my egg whites. I fortunately used a pile of napkins to wipe down my meal (gross) before consuming. My girlfriend that didn't used the restroom not once but twice before the meal was over and had an upset stomach for the rest of the car ride home. Not fun.

I miss Mary's since they closed in Las Vegas several years ago. When I saw there was one in Palm Springs, I had to make it a part of the vacation agenda. I had lunch there today with my 3yo son. They were very accommodating with him; the server was attentive to him, refilling his juice & bringing his french fries out AFTER he finished his grilled cheese. My chicken caesar salad with added bleu cheese crumbles was excellent. I've always loved Mary's. I'm glad to see more of them are popping up nationwide.

Music videos were so damn annoying. Patrons are forced to listen to the worst of the worst of contemporary musical garbage. Lighting was low so very difficult to read menu. Wait staff was nice tho. Food was total slop. I wasn't in the mood for a burger, so I ordered fish and chips. The fish was supposed to be beer battered...but it wasn't. It was breaded...from frozen.. could very well have been Van de Kamps or something similar. Chips were just their regular luke warm soggy fries. Also they don't have ginger ale which I found strange. One of the worst meals I've ever had. Will never go back. The next day I went to Pinnochios, and it was fantastic! fresh food, great atmosphere!

We visited Hamburger Mary's while we were in town from up north. It was a Saturday around 11:30am and we had amazing service. Right when we entered we were greeted by the bartender who ended up being our server since we ate in the bar.

My boyfriend and I ordered the Patty Melt with Cottage Cheese and the Queen Mary with French Fries.  Both ended up being very delicious. The only issue was that my boyfriend ended up with the potato salad which was still very good!

I would recommend this hamburger joint to anyone in the area.

    Awful food.

We had breakfast here and had to send the OJ back as it was all sour and fizzy. The fries looked and tasted as if they were yesterday's leftovers re-fried for a few minutes.
    Never again.

YUM! How sad was I when I realized I left my Hamburger Mary's leftovers in the hotel mini-fridge?! So sad.

The BF and I stopped in for a late lunch (around 2:30pm) on a Saturday. It was not busy at all and we got great service. Our waiter was funny, charming and patient. He knew all the right moves.

Even in the 95 degree heat, the weather in their inside/outside seating was breezy and cool, which was GREAT!

The burgers are HUGE, so if you have people to split food with, go ahead and do that. You'll want to eat it all! (Or take leftovers home). I got the Queen Mary Burger ($12) and it was amazing (something I never say about burgers). Totally great combo of flavors. I opted for the potato salad as a side instead of fries because the weather was hot. I gobbled those all down :) I wish I would have gone to the HM in SD before it closed.

oh and the menus are disgusting - completely covered in grease . . they could at least wipe them down from time to time?

Delicious burgers, very cool club vibe, and an awesome bar and staff. I have been to the location in Hollywood so I had expectations to compare my experience to. We were promptly greeted and seated ourselves at the bar. We ordered wine and beer and the prices were excellent the the serving of wine was awesome! The bartender brought us menus and explained to us that the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes. He never once rushed us and was very polite in recommending burgers to us. We went with a delicious double cheeseburger and a patty melt. It was heaven in my mouth. Even though the kitchen was closing up, we never once felt rushed which I feel is so important when experiencing new places to eat. We ate dinner and were stuffed, and had one last drink at the bar. Overall experience was excellent. They also bring your receipt in a high heel.

It's funny how usually at hamburger Mary's you always leave smiling. This time my girlfriend and I left just after 10 minutes and cancelled our order.

Walking in smiling and for the bear bartender to not even look at us once is a joke. Not even a greet. Really like palm springs is that busy on a Sunday in September!! We asked if a tv could be changed to a game we wanted to watch... We never got an answer we just saw him tell the server that finally helped us no... In an incredibly rude way.

So disappointed. Stick to the one in west Hollywood even if you have to drive and hour and a half to get there... Lucky for us west Hollywood is around the corner.

I came to Palm Springs for a weekend get away, and before we had to check in, we decided to explore the downtown area and get some lunch. BURGER was on our minds.

So we walked in the blazing heat for what felt like an eternity to get to Hamburger Mary's and ordered their famous Mary Hamburger (or whatever it was called). It was HUGE. With my grilled onions piled on, I couldn't even eat it without it spilling over all over my hands, the table, and the plate. The meat was dry, and it really didn't have any special quality to it. I think I ate about a third of the burger before I gave up. I've had much better elsewhere, and I'm pretty sure I could've found better down the street.

For an $11 burger (I added grilled onions and got the organic free range beef), it was a bust.

    What an awful place!

We came here last week with my friends. Took 20 minutes for the waiter to come to us and take the order (just for drinks! Aparently they're not able to take the order for drinks AND food at the same time....) then another 20 minutes to take the order for food (after asking 5 times for glass of water). And (and I can certify the exact time it took to get our burgers as I was on a phone call right before ordering so had the time of the phone call) the food took 52 minutes (yes, FIFTY TWO) to come.

And guess what? Half of our burgers and fries were COLD. Yes cold. Not warm. Cold, freezing. As we were a group of 12 people I guess that instead of bringing the food when it was ready they just piled everything up until the 12 burgers were ready. Bad idea because a burger tastes pretty disgusting after sitting for 52 minutes (and once again, it's damn cold!).

Absolutely NO apologizes from the waiter when we pointed it out. He just took our plates away and that was it.

And by the way, margaritas are terrible : way to sweet, no taste and no alcohol.

And they play terrible loud music ....

How can a place like that can still be open????

Don't come to this restaurant if you're a grouch. It's for cheerful people. I like this place for all the reason Kennedy G. dislikes it:

    1. There is too much of the outside inside.
Yes, it's off-seaon and the temperature is hot... but that's why I live in California. The misters were on, mod / retro furnishings, and the sign reminds you that it's "happy hour open - close". :D

    2. I was excited there were empanadas.
I didn't order these, but cool to know lil pasties and sliders are featured on a #burger menu. The fact I can get wild meats is a BONUS, so I got a sampler: ostrich, kobe beef and buffalo... and I didn't have to hunt it myself. (oh boy, I miss playing Oregon Trail.)

    3. When we were done, we waited  20 minutes for our waiter to show up at our table.
Totally explains why I like to go out for dinner: it's relaxing and I can talk to my guests without feeling guilty that I'm not more productive and industriously washing dishes. :)

Kennedy G. can patron the local Carl's Jr... where I'm sure ingredients more 'wild' than 'roo or ostrich may be in your food anyway. It's just undocumented.

Lunch time.... Starving.... really really hot outside...
Come in, get seated right away in the corner, ordered couple of beers to cool off...
They didn't have verity of options.. I wanted a chicken sandwich, they didn't have it.. booo
Ordered a mushroom burger... the Burger was ginormous... with good amount of fries with it. Everything tasted pretty good. Its can get really messy, so if your not comfortable to eat messy food in front of someone do go here...

They bring the check in a shoe... I mean there it was the bill inside a red heels... pretty creative... Our waiter didn't seem to like us or something, he had no smile on his face and rolled his eyes when we asked for more time to look at the menu..

The food wasn't bad, service was ok, might be coming back on our next trip to PS.  =]

I hate to do it, but I have to compare this location to the one in Hollywood. Hollywood is dark and dingy and has just the right amount of trashiness to make me happy. The music is loud, the waiters are flamboyant.

Apparently the Hollywood location also has Sunday brunch with drag queens and bottomless mimosas. That is what we wanted for our breakfast in Palm Springs so we visited this location.

Bright. Neon green. Airy. Sterile. Music not so loud. Waiters very toned down. No drag queens. No bottomless mimosas. A breakfast menu with about 5 items on it.

We really should have gone somewhere else, but we stayed and ordered burgers for breakfast. My burger, the Proud Mary was overcooked and dry. And messy. The potato salad I chose as a side was also too dry for my liking.

The service was good, but this just wasn't what we were looking for. There are many other places with better burgers, and if I am going to pay $20 for a burger and a Sprite, I want some drag queens making it worth my while.

We walked by this place yesterday and since Jack is Hamburger starved we decided to try it out. When we got there in the middle of lunch time on a Saturday, it was extremely busy. Still we were greeted, asked if we wanted a table which would be ready in 2 minutes or sit at the bar. We chose the table and were seated soon thereafter.

We were immediately asked what we would like to drink. The menu was full of interesting things to order: game burgers and more traditional American items. We decided to try the meat empanadas and the buffalo wings to start. The empanadas were excellent. The pastry was light and airy and the filling was subtle in flavor. It came with a chipotle aioli which complemented the flavors. The buffalo wings were 5 stars. Not breaded just like I like them with the classic sauce. I had not specified blue cheese so we got ranch. As soon as I realized it, I asked one of the many wait staff who was taking care of us and we had blue cheese in no time.

Jack ordered a classic style burger which he loved. I got half a chicken salad sandwich with a garden salad. I had way too much and took half of the "half sandwich" home.

Despite the busy-ness of the place, we had excellent service. The clientele was eclectic from truly ancient gay men to young families with children. It was actually quite pleasant to see people of all types peacefully coexisting.

My family was visiting Palm Springs for the week, we were hungry, so we drove Downtown and found Hamburger Marys , The server was nice but very neglectful.  He forgot our appetizer order, the main entrees came out cold and my dad's didn't arrive until everybody else was done.  The server seemed oblivious to the fact the experience was bad and could have remedied it by taking off the entree that arrived way too late, but instead asked us at the end if everything was good?

Not so much.  3 adults, 2 kids no alcohol and the tab was $100.  Kinda overpriced for a crappy burger joint.  Especailly considering Palm Springs has a restuarant on every corner, STEP it up !!!!

    Overall this place SUCKED!
