  Hammer's is a bit far of a drive for me, but the two times I've been for Haywire concerts have been a blast!  It's a hole in the wall type venue with a focus on fun. The dance floor is just big enough to pile the people in and feel like you have a party going and the stage sits close to the ground giving it an intimate feeling. Shout out to Steve O who has been my favorite DJ there!  They take (free) table reservations, so be sure to call ahead if you want a place to sit - if you don't the locals will beat you to it.  Otherwise, hit the dance floor and party all evening!  There's plenty of parking via a side lot and a low-key crowd makes you feel at home.  
  
  It's in the Lake Jackson area, so if I find myself around there looking for something to do after a day on the lake, I'll drop by again for sure. :)

  I was dragged here for a family function (that's right, my family is full of rednecks) and I actually had a really good time.  I have never in my life been to a more redneck place.  I felt like dueling banjo's was constanly going to be next song, however it's the type of place where you dont have to worry what anyone is going to think about you. Everybody was actually really nice but I cant emphasize enough how country it was.  Be sure to bring your boots and cowboy hat, for obvious reasons and also becasue the ceiling leaks everywhere, so you'll get rained on.  
  
  I cant believe I actually just wrote a review about that place.  Dont judge me.
