Hancock Town Tavern

Our first stop in Maryland on our drive from Michigan to D.C. Experience was surreal. First, they have received a smoking waiver, so can allow smoking 3 days of the week (they were able to prove undue hardship or some such thing) though no one was smoking while we were there. Then, there are the Elvis statuettes all along the top of the bar, the bumper sticker prominently displayed: "Don't blame me, I voted McCain/Palin" Um. Wow. AND beneath THAT, a handposted sign declaring the name of the "winner of the gun" raffle.  Get the picture? Anyway, the bartender was friendly, got me my pickled egg and served it with a knife and fork even. Local flavor. I was able to keep my mouth closed about the politics thing, hey, to each their own. They sent us down the street to the "Triangle Bar" for food as they don't have anything beyond chips and the afore mentioned home made pickled eggs.
