The atmosphere, decor, and the food are all wonderful in their own rights.but its the staff that make this place a true gem in the community. the beer and brats are the best I've found, nationwide, the fish and chips are addictive,, but you really cant go wrong with any thing on the menu.

If you are as  blown away by this establishment as I am, make sure you let the management know and of. course, have it reflect in your tip.

I've had a number of wonderful beers at Hannah Flanagan's.  I've also had a number of good meals there, but now they have a local hummus trio going on and it's very impressive.  Hummus and beer, nothing wrong with that!

Have been here many times. The family likes the place, but to me it is average bar food, if that.
Wings are okay and I have found myself limited to the wings as the only option. However, once again I have had much better wings over the years.

I like Hannah's for times when I want something predictable. It can be very loud there and I find the seats rather uncomfortable, so I don't go when I want to stay a while and visit or chat with the people I am eating with.  When I do go I am sure to order the medallion fries or the pot pie. Both are great. They used to have a ceasar salad I loved, but lately I have seen lots of wilted and brown lettuce, so I stopped ordering the salad. Service has always been pretty good. It is a bar atmosphere. They tend to have a few loud drunks eating in the outside dining area that ruins that setting.

I feel a little bit bias because I'm there window cleaner as the window cleaner I see everything and I can tell you they have never missed a beat on creating the same excellence from the day they opened I have eaten there quite a lot never have been dissatisfied even though they know me they have treated me and everybody that comes in the door with open arms and a positive smile . Went here yesterday after a 90 mile motorcycle ride through Pisgah National Forest and the Brevard area...it was a beautiful day. I was parched by the time I pulled up to Hannah Flanagan's. Outdoor seating is available here and about half the tables were empty so I sat down and waited on someone to take my order....and waited and waited. Three or four times a waiter/waitress came outside to other tables...but it was like I was invisible....finally after about 10 minutes I get someone's attention and get a beer menu...water was never offered!!  So I now have a beer menu...but again no one comes back out to take my order WTF??? I sat waiting about another 10 minutes and finally I gave up and left with no water and no beer...I was so disappointed

Let me say I've been here before and service was ok. They have some nice beers on tap and they mix beers to make good tasting mixtures...my favorite is the Tan & Black. Anyway, not sure if I'll go back now as yesterday they did not seem to be busy...it was around 2;30pm...so I don't know what the problem was.

Might give them another try cause I do like the beers....

For starters, it's a pub, so set your expectations accordingly.

On the plus side, the food was pretty good but inconsistent. Everyone in our party ordered the corned beef and cabbage soup which is our favorite. Out of five servings at our table, my wife's cup had zero corned beef. None. Nada. I'm sorry I didn't find out about that until later as my serving had abundant corned beef which I could have shared. In any case, the person dishing up the corned beef and cabbage soup was inattentive at best.

The service was good as were the rest of our meals.

The kitchen. No one gets to see inside a restaurant's kitchen but I'm told that the condition of the restrooms is a good indicator of the condition of the kitchen.  The men's room was just mediocre, smelly, but there was hot water, soap and towels. Guys are survivors of such things, and again, it's a pub.

My wife tells me that the toilet seats in the lady's room are very loose, putting users at risk of pinching a bit of upper leg skin between the seat and the porcelain upon sitting down. That's just plain not caring for the restaurant's customers. They wouldn't leave the facilities at their home in that condition, but customers - who cares?

So there you are. Your mileage may vary.

This place is the dirtiest restaurant we've ever eaten at. Had we seen the interior before eating there we would have never eaten anything there. We sat out on the patio. The food was really bad. Not worth the cost at any price! The bathrooms were a disgrace. You literally stick to the greasy floor in the dining room. This place needs to be visited by the Health Department! Avoid!

This is our go to restaurant for consistency! Hungry? Need a good break? Hankering for some trivia via box? Meet me at Hannah's is our slogan! Corned beef and cabbage, chicken pot pie, fish and chips, and WINGS. Been there; had them all; highly recommend each. Wait staff has always been fun and helpful.

I would say this pub is a solid 3.5 stars, as it is a good place to hang out and the service was good. The caesar salad was good but the lettuce was a bit wilted. The spinach artichoke dip was quite good for an appetizer. The crabcakes were a bit mushy, but there was a lot of crabmeat. The red potatoes and fried okra were delicious. Best of all, the brown bread has a marvelous sweet taste to it and I wish I could have an entire loaf. The beer list is great and the Sweetwater IPA from Atlanta is hard to beat.

FYI, regarding their fish dishes - I was not impressed by the options. The fish and chips is Atlantic cod which is overfished and I would hope restaurants would be more responsible and seek alternative fish for their fish and chips. The other fish dish was Pangasius (yes you have to ask to find this out), which is an Asian catfish that primarily is farmed in Vietnam. That is a long way for your fish to travel and there are few environmental standards in Vietnam, so for your own health I wouldn't eat farmed fish from Asia. So yeah, be sensible and stick with meat dishes at Hannah Flanagan's.

We are going to make this a regular. Cool pub atmosphere, with bar on one side and restaurant seating on other. Great food and selection. Prompt, friendly, thorough service. Huge beer selection.

While passing through this town as a first time tourist, on spring break with our teens my husband quickly found this place and a nice chair outside and had a beer. When I came over with our little dog, and was about to order drink myself, my daughters came over to sit down with us one had milkshake other a cookie from bakery across the street. Waitress went. It's, loudly literally chasing me and my kids away from the outside area as outside food was not allowed? Apparently a kid with a milkshake is outside food! It was very embarrassing for me and my kids. Husband who was previously enjoying his beer, and going to have another promptly left. I will be back to this town as I found everyone else we encountered to be extremely pet friendly and welcome in general. I would not ever go back here, even without my 18 and 16 ur olds. Maybe management should rethink how you treat tourist if interested in making money!

Really nice surprise. I'm from out of town and needed a late night place with good food. The food was surprisingly good and inexpensive. The staff was friendly and a lot of fun. Great selection of beers. Welcoming atmosphere.

Definitely a local hang-out, but this place also attracts the tourists too. For that reason, it's fun to stop in and see the people. But as Hendoville is a small town, I wouldn't frequent Hannah's if you value any sort of anonymity.

They have video trivia, which is sometimes fun. The cocktails are pretty pricey given the atmosphere and location. Their hummus plate is surprisingly great, as you wouldn't necessarily expect this bar to have vegan offerings, much less one that is so good.

I regard Hannah's as "just a bar," really. Go there if your friends are insistent or you can't think of anything better. It'll be a bar experience.

They have a nice selection of Irish pub food like Irish Stew, Pot Pies and Fish & Chips.   They offer around 15 varieties of beer on tap and zillions more in bottles.  What I didn't see was Magner's Apple Cider, unfortunately.  Love that stuff.  The atmosphere is amusing with large globe lights on the walls, a couple wide screen TVs, etc.  The waitress was efficient and friendly.  I enjoyed my pint of Guinness, even though they didn't pour a four-leaf clover with the suds as they should, and they should have let it sit a little longer to let the suds die down.  Everything was as it should be, the people were pleasant, but there was just something missing.  I can't put my finger on it.  It just didn't seem lively.

This is a great place to stop and get a beer or drink and lunch after a day of walking in downtown Hendersonville.  The staff is friendly, the food is affordable and the the beer is good.

Your biggest challenge is trying to find a parking space on a busy day but it's definitely worth the trip.

Stopped by for a couple of beers.  Fun atmosphere and great pub decor.  I'm from Atlanta, so was pleased to see lots of Highland on tap (it's rare to find more than a couple in the A-T-L).  But, I love some Highland.  There were plenty of other beers on tap, too.  Service was good - very laid back but quick and professional.

we probably eat here every other week.  good place to take people for lunch because there are so many options on the menu, you can't go wrong by ordering a burger.  family friend spot, kids definitely welcome, but also great access to beer/bar.  staff and ownership are friendly, and when the weather is nice you can grab a seat outside.  prices are great, so you can't tell we're in a recession when you go to Hannah's

This place might be a 4star, but we had a bad experience. The waitress admittedly mis-timed our food. Kids food in 10 mins, adult food in 45 = meltdown. She apologized and discounted our meals. Our boxed up BBQ and burgers were still good. Nice beer selection. Worth another try for us.

Monday is wing night..30 cent wings.  You can only get "hot" and you can't take any with you to go.  Who cares...I want my wings hot and I plan on eating them there.

Hannah Flanagan's is located in downtown Hendersonville, NC.  This review is based on one visit...

I enjoyed the meal of Irish pot roast w/ mashed potatoes and gravy.  It also had two onion rings topping it off.  The food was good, and it was a decent portion.  The pot roast had a bit of fat left on it, but not too much.  The ratio of potatoes to meat was a little off...needed more meat!

For dessert, I had Irish cream pie...I had never had it prior to this visit.  It is nothing like Boston cream pie, as I was expecting.  It was very sweet, but not overbearing.

Overall, though, it was  good visit.

Great Irish Pub. Wonderful service. Great assortment of beer on draft and especially in bottles. If you drink one of each of their bottled beers on "the wall" you get a t-shirt, your name on the wall, and 4 more oz of beer in your special "wall" mug upon request.

Normally, I tend to avoid themed establishments like they were the source of a biblical-level plague. The décor always strikes me as offensively phony and superficial, and the food usually isn't all that good. But at the insistence of my father-in-law (who normally isn't wrong when it comes to things such as good food), we ducked in to Hannah Flannigan's to have lunch.

Now, most Irish-themed places, in my opinion, should be shut down, with the owners and executive staff stripped naked and publicly flogged. They are always bars, and any food on the menu tends to be potato-heavy, usually deep fried or with corned-beef on the side. The décor tends to look like the interior of a 19th-century poverty-stricken and dilapidated Celtic cottage. Do I need to mention the non-stop Dubliners music playing over and over?

Make no mistake; there is a touch of the previously described stereo-type here; however, there is one thing that sets Hannah Flannigan's apart from the lot is the excellent food.  While the menu offerings are your typical garden-variety bar and grill fare, the Irish cuisine (yes, there really is such a thing, above and beyond boiled potatoes and corned beef & cabbage) actually includes items you will find served in Eire such as Wild Salmon, and Irish stew.  Everything they offer seems to be excellently prepared and delicious.

Now, a word on Irish stew: It is a remarkably easy dish to prepare, and yet so many manage to screw it up. In most cases a bland vegetable soup with, perhaps, a touch of beef bouillon is passed off as "stew," Try to serve this type of slop to someone of Irish descent who grew up on the good stuff, and you run the risk of having it tossed in your face. So it was a pleasant surprise to discover that the stew was prepared correctly (albeit American-style. True, traditional Irish stew uses mutton, not beef. But in America a cow is acceptable). So great praise for getting it right, and enhancing the flavors with Guinness.

The bar itself appeared to have a large selection of beers, both local and standard, as well as the expected spirits. High praises, again, to the staff for going out of their way to suggest and provide non-alcoholic beverages that were not listed on the menu.

Overall, the experience at Hannah Flanagan's was highly enjoyable. Strongly recommended for a casual late lunch/early dinner, or just a place for beer connoisseurs to sample local flavors and meet up with friends.

Solid beer selection and tasty food.  This Irish Pub should be textbook for mass markets, nothing to risky, no dish to extreme, but all in a good way.  Tasty build your own burgers and great people watching potential makes it a superb lunch spot.

This place is awesome.  I've been there three times, and I will definitely go back if I'm ever in Hendersonville.  It's an Irish pub, but the food is really amazing.  I've had the shepherd's pie at least twice, and I would definitely get it again.

There is a lot of room in this place, even though it looks small.  It is located right in Downtown Hendersonville, and it's within walking distance of shops.  There isn't much parking on the street, if you hit it at the wrong time, but there are lots of spaces down sidestreets.

Get the Irish cream pie.  If you want dessert, you can get whatever you want, as long as you get the Irish cream pie too.  Trust a complete stranger of the internet, it's the most amazing dessert you will ever have.  It comes with real Bailey's, and it is creamy, delicious, and one of my reasons for going.

The atmosphere is what I would except from an Irish Pub, I think my pub going buddies would be pleased...
The food was good, but I was not blown away... hum, is anyone every blown away by Irish food?
The service was good, it seemed a bit busy and unorganized?
It was packed on a Sunday afternoon, so that is a good sign...

I would go back if I wanted a Guinness after antiquing or had pub nuts with me,

    Superb Irish Pub.

Since I've moved all over the country, most states outlaw cigarette smoking in restaurants, and I'm often surprised when I step inside McFarlan's, but it is a pub, and it is to be expected. People mostly smoke around the bar.

Great food, large selection. Tasty burgers. Ask for gravy with your french fries, supposedly that's traditional of the irish but my mother might have made it up. Either way it's really good.

Sit by the window and people watch the streets, or watch one of the tvs around the pub. Friendly atmosphere, I've never seen anyone get rowdy near the bar, but I suppose it happens sometimes. GREAT REAL SWEET TEA. Now that I've moved up north where nobody seems to care about sweet tea, I crave it everyday.

I go back everytime I'm in town. Parking is a little hard to find, but if you're willing to walk park in the lot down by the visitor center. It's about a 3 block walk from there, but since Hendersonville has become quiet the happening spot for tourists in the summer, parking does become sparse.

Someone else commented and mentioned another Hannah Flannagan's in Asheville. This is true. I don't know if they're the same owners, but the one in Asheville seems to be more of strictly a bar. I don't think you can get in to that one if you're under 21. Or so I was told when I was underage.

The food is pretty good...but the place is a smoke pit.  Don't go if cigarette smoke bothers you. The last time we went (which will be the last time, ever!), the cigarette smoke was so thick I had to hold a napkin over my face when I wasn't eating/choking--and this in the non-smoking section.  I asked if they could open a door....any door....they said they couldn't.

Great hamburgers, maybe the best in H'ville. Also good; wings, Rubens, fish & chips, roast beef and they can pull a decent Guinness.

Saturday afternoon's during season are far to busy for the likes of me, lots of folks from the North.

They carry a great beer from England called Old Speckled Hen.

I actual proposed to my wife here a few years back, who needs a fancy diner when you can have 'burgers & Hen's.

The cat that opened this place sold it quite a few years ago, he still owns the unit in A'ville and has since opened The Black Rose here in H'ville.

Hannah Flanagan's is a cozy little Irish pub in downtown Hendersonville. It's a nice place to meet friends and have a pint or two. The fare is typical for the setting but is nicely done. The fish and chips with a house salad and a black and tan to wash it down with is my personal favorite. The food is inexpensive and very tasty and the service has always been first rate.

There is another Hannah Flanagan's in Asheville or so I hear. I have never been there, but have not heard good things. I don't know if they are affiliated or if Hannah used to get around (If you know what I mean?) either way, the one in H'ville gets my vote.

Hannah Flanagan's never seems to change much, and I think that's a good thing.  For a pub smack dab in the middle of Hendersonville, NC, it's not that bad actually.  It's nice and dark in there, and actually very cozy.  They have decent beers on tap, nothing spectacular, but again, this is Hooterville.  The clientele can be a little sketch on weekends as everyone around the tri-county area decides to gussy up and head to the big city.  But it's pretty amusing to just people watch there, you will see a lot of people in their golden years living it up until closing.
