Their breakfast is really good. The food is extremely fresh and the portion sizes are generous.

When it finally showed up the breakfast burrito was quite tasty. But it should never take 40+ minutes to make a breakfast burrito.

Cozy little sandwich shop. I really enjoyed the Presto Pesto. I would recommend this place and I would come back again!

We really liked this little place. Good breakfasts and good proportions. It is a small place with some alternative lifestyle funk to it. If you like a groovy kind of place this is it. We had eggs, bagels, bacon, omelet (two days running) and they were good. The feta was goat. They were out of the gluten free bread.

For food, I really like this place. I had the breakfast burrito and it was very good. Also had pancakes; they were fine, not exceptional but perfectly fine -- also, they serve maple flavored syrup (which reminds me, maybe I should travel with my own real maple syrup). Anyway, the woman behind the counter taking was very accommodating and took away some items that I wasn't interested in. She was really kind, sweet and really did what she could to make our little breakfast nice - thank you! The coffee was good although they didn't have espresso (albeit, I like mine really strong). Certainly a place to go for breakfast!  I think you would be happy...

Stayed at the Fire Water Lodge next door and they give you a coupon for breakfast here.  A fun little cafe, lots of locals chatting away, great patio for outsiders, I really enjoyed their breakfast food, good coffee too.

Great options for vegetarians and vegans. I tried the Happy Belly breakfast burrito. So filling and yummy!

I will admit, every time I come here I always get the same thing: Polenta Sandwich (but they definitely have several vegetarian dishes!). And it's reliable terrific! The food here is great, and the staff is friendly. A great place to grab lunch with friends, and now they do pizza some evenings. There is shady outdoor seating and nice indoor seating, and since you're right in the middle of downtown, why not take a short walk to some of the local stores?

We stumbled upon the Happy Belly thanks to other Yelp!ers. Our goal for the holiday road trip was to eat at only non-chain restaurants, which proved challenging in Truth or Consequences on a Sunday morning in December... But! Happy Belly was there and open. Terrific.

The restaurant is TINY, and definitely the local's coffee shop. We were the only non-local diners in the joint, but our presence did not deter the two tables of old-timers swapping stories and slinging coffee.

The restaurant staff was immediately attentive, passing coffee mugs before we'd even finished the menu. I was delighted, when, after declining toast with my breakfast, the server asked if perhaps I would like gluten-free toast? ABSOLUTELY! Make note, restaurants in large cities: offering bread for your gluten-sensitive customers is not impossible.

My little girl dined on pancakes which were ample, perfect, and a delightful vehicle for syrup. Hubby had an omelet. I ordered a chorizo & green chili omelet which proved the spiciest single item of food I have ever eaten in New Mexico. It was ridiculous, and delicious.

Five stars earned for: being open on a Sunday morning; availability of GF toast; fresh, delicious coffee; crazy-hot chorizo & chilies. Check it out.

Good, tasty cafe food.  I LOVE the polenta sandwich and drove down yesterday specifically for it and a soak.  Good stuff.

It's small, the wait can be a little long, but it's worth it.  Good value for what you get.  They have a patio for your dog.  Last time I was there they even brought him some bacon.  Thank you!

I am hesitantly taking off that one star because it is pretty small and on a Sunday morning, it was a little too crowded to be comfortable. But everything else was excellent! The food was delicious and served promptly, even with the crowd. The staff were friendly we left for our long drive home very happy and full. But the best part (for me) was the wonderful gluten-free bread! It is the best I have ever had and I almost didn't even ask if they had any. I highly recommend this sweet cafe to anyone who finds themselves in T or C. And if you are staying for a while, try it twice and let me know how lunch was...

Great sandwiches!  You order at the counter of this funky find- where we have always been greeted by kind servers.  There is a large selection of sandwiches to chose from - the turkey melt is my favorite.  Food tastes wonderful every time. The staff is always accommodating which makes for a pleasant, relaxed dining experience.  It's a great little restaurant to come upon in T or C.

I have to admit that as a vegan from California I was somewhat apprehensive about my dinning options while visiting the in-laws in T or C.  Upon the recommendation of other yelpers, I found my way to the Happy Belly Deli. Since I have had a google hummus sandwiches in my life, my expectations were not set too high for this visit.  However, that was hands down one of the best sandwiches I have had in recent memory. The enigma here is that I can not point to one secret ingredient or a special method of preparation that made this sandwich rise above it's competitors.  This was an example of a case where the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. Freshly prepared hummus was spread on ciabatta bread that was accompanied by spinach leaves, sprouts, tomato, and red onion. Make sure to ask them to add green chiles, which makes this sandwich truly a New Mexico original. I can not say enough about that sandwich.  My only complaint is that my side of pasta salad was rather bland. It would have benefited from some added oil and vinegar along with more salt and pepper.   For you carnivores, if the meat selections are anything like the sandwich that I devoured then I am sure that you will be more than satisfied.  I indeed left with a happy belly.

Tiny little place.  Food is ok.   We stayed at a hotel close by overnight and walked over in the morning after my run to have breakfast.

Order at the counter, pay and wait for your food to be brought over.  It's small front but there is a courtyard on the side for smokers and pets.

Limited menu but to be fair it's a small cafe but it suits the needs of the town.  Cash is accepted, parking offstreet.  Prices are reasonable:  breakfast combo's are 5.29 or you can make your own egg omelette with 55 cents ingredients.

This is a tiny joint that gets lots of business...so seating is sometime tough to come by. But if you can snag some, it's worth it. We stayed two days in TorC (one at the next door FireWater Lodge) and had breakfast here both times. The prices were VERY reasonable...and the food was typical breakfast fare, but very tasty and in large portions.

My wife LOVED the french toast so much that this is what drove our decision to return a 2nd day. (Not that I resisted much...I liked it too.)

I'm always very happy to find a funky local place to eat when on vacation, especially when the food is good and the price is good.

Note: we did not have lunch, nor did I look at their lunch menu. My comments are strictly breakfast. If you're staying at the Fire Water Lodge (highly recommended for romantic getaway) YOU must eat breakfast here. It's literally connected to one end of the hotel, they give you a coupon at the hotel, and it's just SO tasty!

Great food and friendly service. This is where the locals gather for coffee, food, and conversation. Nice courtyard  for outside dining.
