If that is English food then I'm a Chinaman. In fact I am English but have lived in the USA for nearly 20 years.
I ordered "Bangers and Mash".
A banger is a sausage NOT a sliced piece of overly salted, foul, pink "country" sausage.
Mash is NOT Â a pancake of under cooked cabbage and potato.
Gravy is NOT an overly salted brown glop.
Someone in the kitchen needs to be sent to the colonies.
This is what real bangers and mash should be

15 Oct 2012. Â Touring fall colors (nearby Pickett's State Park had REALLY brilliant color) and stopped at Rugby for an early diner. Â Harrow promotes British specialties consistent with Rugby history. Â Our group of 4 went for the Shepherd's Pie and I suspect three of the four will never try Shepherd's Pie again (not enough of the good stuff, excess mashed potatoes). Â Server was somewhat sympathetic but I really blame the kitchen. Â Restaurant score 82 (30 points possible for cleanliness, food, service and ambiance),
