In town for business my group went here twice in one week. The atmosphere was enjoyable, not too loud, live music one night and a good drink selection. I was excited to see Terrapin Beer on the self.
The food was just OK though. Everyone's conscious was that whatever that it was we ordered wasn't bad but wasn't special. Over the 2 nights and our group of 10 we had a little bit of everything.
However, I am much happier eating here and supporting a local business thank going to somewhere like Applebee's.
Had dinner here with coworkers while visiting from Chicago. Â This was one of the recommendations by some locals from the factory. Â The parking is a bit tight, but no biggie. Â We were able to get a table for the 5 of us with no wait at 5 on a Tuesday evening (even with the Braves playing). Â The place reminds me of a good divey type bar so don't expect fancy tables and chairs.
Good beer selection in the bottle, not so much on tap. Â For apps we got the onion rings and fried banana peppers. Â Both were tasty and the sauces accompanied them quite well. Â I went for the Green Bird Calzone for dinner and was perfectly happy. Â A couple folks in our party got the chicken pot pie which according to our friendly waitress is made daily so when they run out they run out. Â They were very happy with their selection. Â I can't remember what the others got, but everyone was satisfied.
I'd recommend hitting this place up if you are in town.
In town for a work for a week, and this is one of the first places I stopped. It's pretty much a hole in the wall... feels very much like a bar.
That said, the pizza is pretty tasty and the beer list is extensive. If you like a good craft beer, Harvest Moon has a great selection of microbrews and seasonals. Skip the draft list, though.
I went here for late night food, because in Albany, Georgia there really aren't too many other options. They have a lot of live music going on so they charge cover but since we were just there for the pizza we were let in without having to pay. It's a small space so there's really no way to escape the band-not that they were bad but it was definitely LOUD!
In a space this small and a music that loud it's hard to think much more get the attention of the bartender or waitstaff. The pizza was just okay, especially after waiting so long for it. I think if I gave it another try earlier in the evening things would be better.
I was in Albany to run a marathon in 2011 and again this year, and my boyfriend and I went to Harvest Moon both years. From what we can tell, aside from the Mellow Mushroom, this is the only other place to get a good beer in this town.
For beer geeks: Don't bother checking the draft list -- it's terrible. The saving grace is the bottle list, which includes Founders Breakfast Stout. However, no matter what, they bring you a beer with a frosted glass. They apparently can't give you a glass any other way (no really -- that's what our server said).
Food: For what we've had, it's good for a bar. I recommend the pizza and the calzones.
Service: They'll stop by to check on you a lot, but you can see that they're trying hard and care. Definitely a friendly staff.
Overall: If you're in Albany and need a place to eat and grab a beer, stop by here, as it's one of the solid establishments in this town. Because of the location, it gets 4 stars (In Atlanta, I would give it would get 3).
Place had a lot of good rep and I was hoping they'd be good, but just wasn't very memorable. Went twice, first time I got a sandwich that was pretty bland. Second time I tried a Buffalo-Blue Cheese Pizza, but it was pretty off-putting. Service is great though!
I'd try them again, but haven't been uberly-impressed so far.
My mom and I LLLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEE this place! We go there it seems bi-monthly for lunch and get our usual.  We share a small pizza that has grilled chicken, bacon, and provolone cheese with a side of "Rojos" (fried thin-sliced  potatoes with seasoned salt).  The building is small and dark; it's pretty much a sports bar atmostosphere.  My only suggestion is to not go for supper if you do not like it loud.  They have bands play INSIDE on some evenings and like I said, it's a small building.
Review Source:I have been to this place about 3 times, I have been twice late night for drinks and once for lunch. Their service is pretty good and they have a pretty good selection of pizza, wraps and sandwiches. I had one of their wraps which was pretty tasty with their sweet potato fries.
On my most recent outing to Harvest Moon, I went with my boyfriend and a friend. This place was packed and they had some local band playing southern rock, which was pretty decent, because of the band they had a $5 cover, which I was not too keen on, but whatever..... there isn't that much going on in Albany so we paid up.
The service was pretty prompt and you didn't need to stand at the bar forever despite the crowd. Their beer selection is not the greatest in the world... dont expect much in terms of imports or craft beers, for that go to Mellow Mushroom.
Anyway, the atmosphere was fun, and it was a fun place to people watch if that is your cup of tea. The place has a patio, which is nice if you want to have a conversation away from the music and the crowds.
I recommend this place mostly for the food, interesting crowd and atmosphere for a place like Albany
Visited this place twice on a two day business trip to Albany; Once for lunch and then the last half of Monday night football. One of the best Mediterranean pizza'a I've ever eaten. Fat Tire on tap. Nice friendly place with a great local feel. Owner is a great guy to sit and have a beer with.
Review Source:What I love about this place:
1. Great food with good prices
2. Super friendly wait staff
3. Great bar and bar scene
What I don't like
1. I only eat out twice a week, so I can only visit the Moon so often
Have loved this place since it was located downtown. Have made a lot of friends here and eaten a ton of great food. Whenever I am back in Albany, this is one of my stops.
Came here to hang out on a Saturday night because it was walking distance from my hotel and there was a live band and no cover.
The place is really a restaurant with a bar, but is still a cool place to chill at. The band was good and covered mostly country type stuff.
Beers were 2.00 and the service was great. I had seven pints of miller high life and got completely crushed for $21. If I'm back in town I'll probably come here.
