Went to The Haven based on a recommendation from my hotel front desk and the reviews on Yelp.  The service was below average, as were the wings and the french dip (both despite other reviews on Yelp).

I got the feeling this place might be a local favorite, or a good watering hole to grab a beer and watch a game but I would not return for the food.

Me and my friend have been to the Haven several times. In my opinion, this is the best bar food in Johnstown. Their portions are huge; I don't know how they make any money! The food is delicious!

    - I've had the reuben, it's great (I personally don't like sourkraut, so I didn't have it).
    - My friend had the Rachel, bought a whole one, and she said it was very good and ate the whole thing over a 3 day period. Very big. Not sure what's in it.
    - My favorite - French dip. 2 people can easily share; very good and makes it
very hard to try any thing else.
    - There chips (homeade; are the best I've ever had). Not a big fan of chips otherwise
    -  Murphy's on tap, and I always drink tequilla and cran - and there drinks are big and 1 of the best mixtures I've had.

I drive about 20 min. to get there but well worth the trip and I go about once a week now.

*** Side note - not a big fan of Westmont or Southmont either

We have been to the Haven no less than a dozen times. The last time we went will be our last. The service is usually subpar. The waiters and waitresses have always been nice to us, but are clearly overwhelmed. Most seem to wait the entire dining area and wait the bar. The food is hit and miss, but the last few times were really bad. When we first started going there a few years ago the food was consistently good, but over time it seems to be consistently poor quality.

Pros: The beer battered fries are always awesome.

Cons: Understaffed and random quality of food.

I have recommend a few friends to the haven and they had poor experiences there also.

As a creature of habit I finally mustered up enough courage to opt for The Haven over Murphy's on my most recent visit to Johnstown. Anyone who's familiar with this area will know that Johnstown wings are incredible, unlike any other wings I've eaten anywhere else on this fine planet.

That said, I enjoyed my wings at The Haven but I still prefer Murphy's for a couple reasons, specifically the atmosphere and how they cook their wings. Murphy's wings aren't cooked as long, The Haven's wings are too 'well done' for my taste. And the atmosphere at Murphy's can't be beat; it's a local watering hole where everyone knows everyone.

All things considered, you can't go wrong at either establishment. My advice is to visit both on the same night (they're across the street from one another) and make your own decision.
